NFL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Week 8

What is your favorite correlation on the slate and why?

Notorious: Lamar Jackson + Zay Flowers – Last week, my favorite correlation was Jackson to Mark Andrews because I loved LJ and the Lions were awful at defending tight ends. That worked wonders, so I am going back to the Baltimore well. This time, I am pairing Jackson with Flowers because he’s underpriced and the matchup sets up well for him. The Cardinals have held tight ends to the 5th-fewest fantasy points this season but have allowed the 5th-most fantasy points to wide receivers. I like the idea of bringing back the stack with Marquise Brown after he burned everyone as the chalk value receiver last week.

squirrelpatrol: Ja’Marr Chase + Christian McCaffrey + George Kittle – This will be an expensive WR/RB/TE game stack, but there’s enough value to make this stack work (and part of that value could come from the QB position in this game). Whether Sam Darnold or Brock Purdy starts for San Francisco, this game could go in a few different directions, with the 49ers having a good defense but allowing the 2nd-most passing attempts per game in the NFL and the Bengals defense allowing the 4th-most rushing yards per game.

Krayton: Tua Tagovailoa + Tyreek Hill – There are actually quite a few high-end QBs that I like, including Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, and then Sam Darnold for tremendous value, especially on DK. However, I am going to go with the top offense in the NFL with Miami. Even though we have Tua and Tyreek at decent ownership as I write this on Friday, I think they will come in lower-owned than expected with some of the value and better perceived QB matchups. In the past, Bill Belichick has schemed to stop Tyreek; however, the Patriots are down two of their starting defensive backs since the two teams last met. Christian Gonzalez was able to hold Tyreek to just 5 receptions, 40 yards, and a TD in that game, but I still love the upside that this offense brings. I also like including Jaylen Waddle in my stacks and getting as much exposure to their offense as possible.

ebeimfohr: Sam Darnold + SF pass catchers – Sort of cheating here, but I’ll be using all of the Big 3 San Fran players with Darnold liberally. Particularly on DK with Darnold at $4,300, I think this is the perfect spot to “flip the build” in tournaments and stack Darnold with one of Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, or George Kittle and use the $3k-4k savings off the elite QBs to load up on your skill players. Darnold was a lot better than people think last season, and any QB in a Kyle Shanahan offense comes in with a fantasy floor that’s far higher than a $4,300 price.

Stevietpfl: Lamar Jackson + Mark Andrews + Marquise Brown – This is my favorite large-field tournament stack. Andrews is a pivot off of Travis Kelce, and Brown is a pivot off Zay Flowers. Kelce projects as the highest-scoring tight end, and there is a lot of value to make Kelce lineups work. Flowers is a great option but is projected to be one of the highest-owned players. While I like both of them, I think if Andrews can keep up with Kelce, and Flowers doesn’t score a TD, this tournament stack could be a highly correlated pivot with a lot of upside. In my builds, I will have some Flowers and Kelce, but I like this pivot for tournaments to be different.

eys819: C.J. Stroud + Nico Collins + Tank Dell + Adam Thielen – This is an affordable game stack that allows you to fit some premium spend-ups around it. Stroud has been excellent in his rookie season and is coming off the bye week. Dell has cleared concussion protocol and should step back into a role he was thriving in, especially if Robert Woods (questionable with a foot injury) misses the game. Collins leads the team with a 19.6% target share, and his price is still too cheap (on DK) for his role. The run-back on the other side of the game is obvious, as Thielen has seen a 24.5% target share this season.

Bobby Gomes: Cooper Kupp + CeeDee Lamb – Here we have one of the higher totals on the main slate (44.5) and two of the best fantasy assets in the game. The better news? Kupp is coming in around 10% owned, and Lamb is at ~7%. Lamb is fresh off the bye, and Kupp should bounce back after a Week 7 dud. This same-game duo has upwards of 50-60 fantasy points between the two of them. The Cowboys’ corners do not travel much, allowing Sean McVay to use Kupp anywhere he wants. He should eat underneath.

He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS.
