Patriots vs. Jets Same Game Parlay Picks and Predictions for Today
After falling to the 49ers in Week 1, the New York Jets nabbed a much-needed road victory against the Titans in Week 2. The Patriots fell to the Seahawks after decimating survivor pools in Week 1 when they defeated the Bengals. On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Jets are heavy favorites. Will Gang Green win their home opener? Can the Patriots land another upset? Let’s review the game before building a same game parlay for Thursday Night Football.
Patriots vs. Jets Same Game Parlay Preview
The Jets are 6-point favorites at home at most sports betting sites. The implied game total at 38.5 seems pretty high, considering the game plan and pace of the teams involved. ScoresAndOdds features 69% of betting tickets taking the over while the money is very close to 50/50. 64% of the betting handle has fallen on the home team throughout the short week, holding the betting spread steady while the public bets the Patriots.
The Jets suffered key injuries in Week 2. While still awaiting the beginning of the Hassan Reddick era, the Jets lost Jermaine Johnson to a torn Achilles, and C.J. Mosley was carted off to the locker room with a toe injury. Mosley hasn’t practiced and is going to be a game-time decision. With a weakened defense, expect a heavier dose of Rhamondre Stevenson. The Jets have struggled with opposing running backs thus far in 2024.
The Patriots will hope C David Andrews can play through a hip injury. Ja’Whaun Bentley, however, was placed on the injured reserve. The Patriots clearly lean on strong defensive play and possessing the football. Bentley had 100 tackles in his last three seasons. The loss of Bentley will make it tougher for New England to bottle up Breece Hall.
Breece Hall is the clear focal point of the Jets offense. Hall has seen 20 opportunities in his first 2 games and has both rushing and receiving touchdowns. While Hall has not found much success on the ground, the Jets continue to use the playmaker often. Aaron Rodgers has targeted Hall 6 and 8 times in 2 games. With a strong Patriots front, we should anticipate Rodgers to check down to his star frequently throughout the game.
Both teams begin the season with similar identities. They play slow and don’t aim to run a high volume of plays. The Patriots are overt with their commitment to run the football and rank 5th in the league in time of possession (56.53%) over the first 2 weeks. The Jets have only possessed the football 42.82% of the time through 2 weeks. Aaron Rodgers uses the clock, and the Jets have struggled to stop the run in 2024.
The Jets are allowing 4.7 yards per rushing attempt but a 24th-worst 155 rushing yards per game. On a per-attempt basis, the Jets are average at limiting running backs, but teams seem to go to the well often against New York. The Patriots have conversely allowed only 58 yards per game on the ground in 2024. The Jets might find sledding very tough for Breece Hall and Braelon Allen. Allen scored two touchdowns in Week 2 against the Titans.
This feels like an AFC East slugfest that won’t be very entertaining to non-fans. With both teams committing to running the football and stopping the run, this game could come down to a field goal. Let’s build our same game parlay for Thursday night.
Same Game Parlay Picks for Patriots vs. Jets
- Breece Hall Over 4.5 Receptions
- Rhamondre Stevenson Over 66.5 Rushing Yards
- Aaron Rodgers Under 1.5 Rushing Yards
Breece Hall Over 4.5 Receptions
The Jets feature two budding superstars. Garrett Wilson was pegged to be a star on the outside. Breece Hall might already be a superstar at the running back position. Hall is an elite rusher and will have plenty of games this season with big rushing totals against weaker defenses. Hall, though, doubles as an elite receiving option.
Hall’s receiving yardage is tempting, but I will focus less on the efficiency and more on the volume for tonight’s game. Aaron Rodgers targeted Hall 8 and 6 times over the first two weeks. Hall converted those targets for 7 and 5 receptions. Garrett Wilson might struggle with Christian Hernandez, leaving Rodgers wanting to check down.
I am not sure Hall is going to do much with his catches, but I will not be shocked if he hauls in 7 or 8 passes against the Patriots. We start with the over.
Rhamondre Stevenson Over 66.5 Rushing Yards
The Jets are getting beaten on the ground in 2024. Jordan Mason opened the season by gashing the Jets for 147 yards on 28 carries. The following week, the Titans combined for 130 yards on the ground between Tony Pollard, Will Levis, and Tyjae Spears. The Jets cannot get off the field and will struggle to improve without C.J. Mosley and Jermaine Johnson.
Rhamondre Stevenson shredded Cincinnati in the opening week of the season for 120 rushing yards. He followed that up with 81 more yards against the Seahawks in an overtime loss. The New England coaching staff has fed their back for more than 20 carries in both games. Tonight will not be an exception.
I bet the Jets can’t stop the run until then. Stevenson’s rushing over is my favorite prop of the night.
Aaron Rodgers Under 1.5 Rushing Yards
Finally, we get a bit cheeky with our last prop. Aaron Rodgers is a statue — and not a mobile one at that. Recovering from his Achilles injury, Rodgers is not looking to run like he did in the past. In the first 2 games, Rodgers has a total of 3 rushing attempts — with one being a kneel-down.
Rodgers is likely to run for his life tonight, but those runs will be behind the line of scrimmage. I don’t think Rodgers has more than an attempt, and if he does, it will likely be backward to end the game.
We take this prop hoping the Jets win and we get a couple of guaranteed negative rushes to end the game.
Patriots vs. Jets Parlay Odds

- Rhamondre Stevenson Over 66.5 Rushing Yards
- Aaron Rodgers Under 1.5 Rushing Yards
