Shohei Ohtani – More Than 1.5 Total Bases
The Dodgers have the second-highest implied total on the board tonight behind the Diamondbacks. Although Ohtani has yet to hit his stride with the Dodgers, tonight is as good a night as any. He projects for 2.8 bases tonight in the RotoGrinders projections and faces Lance Lynn, one of the worst pitchers in baseball to left-handed batters. Ohtani boasted a .374 ISO to righties, while Lynn gave up a .272 ISO to lefties- a match made in heaven.

Joe Ryan – More Than 15.5 Outs
Ryan took a major leap forward last season, finishing with a 29% K rate. He gets a fine matchup against the Royals tonight, who are good but not great against righties. While he likely won’t have an overly high pitch count early in the season, it shouldn’t be a tough task to eclipse five and a third innings.

Tonight, he projects for 2.2 total bases, but I’m expecting him to knock one out of the park.
