In Case You Missed It
- Last Night’s Winners – Grinders member HarperChase took down yesterdays 40k Sunday Monster on FanDuel with a score of 73. Top 100 ranked grinder GolfGalaxy shipped the 7k first place prize in the 17k Sunday Slugger with a score of 60.75.
Over on Draftkings top 100 ranked MLB grinder SamENole beat out the 275 player field with a score of 190.7 in the 50k Perfect Game.

- The Open Championship – 25 year old Rory McIlroy finished 17 under par at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in England this weekend to win The Open Championship. Sergio Garcia and American Rickie Fowler finished two shots back at -15. This is the second straight major championship where the round one leader lead throughout the entire tournament and finished in 1st. Congrats to RotoGrinders member jdtrey22 for taking down the 10k first place prize money in the DraftKings 60k Medium Championship. And congrats to Grinders member drewboski for taking down the huge 100k first place prize in the DraftKings 300k Championship.

Today’s Events
* Tonight’s MLB – Here’s tonight’s MLB slate of 12 games starting at 7:05 and a few random game notes.
7:05 – Texas at NY Yankees – Shin-Soo Choo does not have a hit in his last 21 at bats, Alex Rios will likely miss another game due to his sprained ankle meaning Daniel Robertson could draw another start in right field. Shane Greene gets the start for the Yankees, he is 2-0 with a 1.32 ERA.
7:05 – San Francisco at Philadelphia – Ryan Vogelsong (5-7 3.86ERA) takes the mound for the Giants against Cliff Lee (4-4 3.18 ERA) and the Phillies. Cliff Lee has been on the DL since May with an elbow injury, but he has absolutely dominated the Giants in his past starts going 5-0 with a 0.88 ERA in regular season games.
7:05 – LA Dodgers at Pittsburgh – Hyun-jin Ryu is 10-5, with a 3.44 ERA this season. In his two career starts against the Pirates he is 2-0 with a 2.92 ERA. Edwin Volquez has pitched two complete games in a row and brings an 8-6 record with a 3.65 ERA into tonight’s game in PNC Park.
7:07 – Boston at Toronto – John Lackey has struggled with the Blue Jays during his career. In 20 starts vs Toronto he is 5-8 with a 5.43 ERA. Drew Hutchinson starts for Toronto and is 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA vs the Red Sox lifetime, but he gave up 6 ER to Tampa Bay in 5.1 innings in his last start, and is 6-8 with a 4.16 ERA this season. David Ortiz is 0-6 lifetime vs Hutchinson.
7:10 – Miami at Atlanta – Tom Koehler brings his 5.37 road ERA to Atlanta to take on Julio Teheran and the Braves. Tehran is 7-0 vs the Marlins and is a 9-6 with a 2.71 ERA this season.
8:10 – Kansas City at White Sox – Jeremy Guthrie has not made it past the 4th inning in of each of his last two starts. He has given up 14 earned runs over his last 8 innings pitched. He will be up against the well rested White Sox’s ace Chris Sale, 8-1 with a 2.08 ERA.
8:10 – Cincinnati at Milwaukee – Mat Latos has only started twice vs the Brewers but has done a good job against them going 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA. Wily Peralta (10-6 3.72 ERA) will start for the Brewers. Ryan Braun is 2-20 against Latos.
8:10 – Cleveland at Minnesota – T.J. House (1-2, 4.40 ERA) vs Kris Johnson (0-1, 5.40 ERA). Michael Brantley is hitting .377 with 3 dongs this month and Yan Gomes is batting .319 with 4 dongs in July.
8:40 – Washington at Colorado – MLB returns to Coors field tonight with Doug Fister 8-2 2.90 ERA) taking on Franklin Morales (5-4 5.42 ERA) and the Rockies. There are quite a few injuries to keep an eye on in this game. Troy Tulowitzki sat out Sunday due to a cramp in his left thigh while running out a ground ball in Saturday’s game. Justin Moreanu has missed 3 games in a row with a neck injury, and Charlie Blackmon sat out Sunday with an ankle injury but is likely to return tonight. Washington swept the last series with the Rockies 3-0.
9:40 – Detroit at Arizona – Justin Verlander (8-8, 4.88 ERA) has only faced the Diamondbacks once in his career and it was in 2011 when he struck out 14 in 8 innings. The former Yankee Vidal Nuno (2-6, 5.10 ERA) takes the mound for the Diamondbacks and will look to continue Arizona’s recent home game domination.
10:05 – Baltimore at LA Angels – Bud Norris (7-6, 3.96) returns to the mound for the Orioles after giving up 5 earned runs in 4 innings in his last start vs the Nationals. He had some success against the Angels last year while pitching for Houston, he was 3-0 with a 0.32 ERA. Matt Shoemaker (7-2, 4.32) will once again come out of the bullpen for the Angels to start vs the Orioles.
10:10 – NY Mets at Seattle – Lefty Jon Niese has never faced Seattle and is (5-4, 2.96) on the season. He squares off against another lefty Roenis Elias (7-8, 4.54) who has been roughed up in his last 3 starts.
