The 2-1 Seahawks take on the 1-2 Giants in a likely close game with a pretty high game total. Saquon Barkley is doubtful with his ankle injury, so Breida and Brightwell will carry the RB load for the Giants, while Fant and Dissly are questionable for Seattle, but both are expected to play.
NFL DFS Showdown Picks: Giants vs. Seahawks Week 4
Currently, this game is sitting at a 47.5 total, with the Seahawks favored by 1.5 points. In most scenarios where the Giants are without Barkley, I’d expect this spread to be at least 3-5 in favor of Seattle, but with it being in the Meadowlands and close to a must-win game for the Giants, the spread is much closer than I expected.
Quarterback
Daniel Jones has been a rollercoaster through three games, scoring 6.46, 34.74, and 4.98 FP. His two terrible games were against elite defenses (DAL and SF), while it took a huge second half comeback in Arizona to save his fantasy day and get the first win for the Giants in Week 2. Today’s matchup is primed for Jones to have another 30+ FP game, as the Seahawks rank last in the league in pass yards/game allowed at 328, while ranking 6th best in run defense at 79.3 rush yards/game. Jones and the Giants are also going to be much more reliant on the passing game with Barkley out and the pass funnel Seahawks defense, so I’m calling Jones a must-play in cash games and someone to have plenty of captain exposure to.
Geno Smith has been pretty solid through three games, with 4 TDs and just 1 INT, and a 17.2 FPPG average. This matchup with New York is pretty neutral, as their pass defense ranks 18th in the league, allowing 223.7 pass yds/game. With a pretty high game total and close spread, I like finding a way to get Smith in your cash game lineup along with Jones, but if you only go with one, I think Jones has more upside.
Running Back
This game has Kenneth Walker written all over it, as the Giants are allowing 138 rush yards/game and have allowed four rushing TDs to RBs so far. Walker’s involvement in the passing game, along with his secure bell-cow role, gives him an excellent floor/ceiling combo, and he is easily my top cash game skill player to lock in. If you’re doing MME (mass multi-entry), I don’t mind using his backup Zach Charbonnet ($3,400) on a few lineups, as he’s seen ten and six touches over the last two games, and should be extremely low-owned.
With Barkley out last week, Matt Breida saw 82% of the snaps and turned 7 touches into 18 yards and a TD. Gary Brightwell only saw 18% of the snaps, turning 6 touches into 36 yards. Against a pass-funnel Seahawks defense, I am not interested in either of these RBs in cash games as both are at risk of seeing less than 10 touches, especially with the running ability of Jones. Both are worth a few GPP lineups if you’re doing MME, but that’s about it.
Wide Receiver
Darius Slayton and Parris Campbell have seen 17 and 16 targets, respectively, through three weeks, and are the clear top WR targets for Jones. At $2,800, Campbell is by far my favorite p/$ WR target from the Giants and should be a cash game staple, assuming you go with Jones too. WanDale Robinson ($3,000) is also super cheap and did see 5 targets in his first action of the year last week, but a lot of that was just garbage time, and he did only play 11 snaps, so he’s just a GPP play for me, along with Jalin Hyatt ($2,000). Isaiah Hodgins ($5,800) is the priciest of the WR group and put up a goose egg last week, but still played 66% of the snaps, and could see some recency bias ownership depression, making him one of my favorite GPP plays. Darius Slayton ($5,200) is probably the highest upside WR of the group, and if you’re doing MME, I’d have plenty of him stacked with Jones, along with different WR combos of Hodgins and Campbell with some Robinson sprinkled in.
DK Metcalf ($8,800) and Tyler Lockett ($8,000) are very close in salary, and it’ll be hard to fit both in a cash game lineup with Geno and Jones. Metcalf is my pick if you only go with one in your main build, but I’d have plenty of each in GPPs, with both having captain spot exposure and stacked a variety of ways with Geno. Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($5,000) has been too inconsistent to be considered anything but a GPP dart-throw today.
Tight End
Darren Waller is due for a monster game, and today could be the day against a pass-funnel pass defense and no Barkley to help the run game. He’s had some tough matchups with DAL and SF, while putting up 6-76-0 on 8 targets against Arizona, and I’m expecting his floor to be around there today. As the 6th most expensive player from this game, I think he is a steal at $7,000, and I’m calling him a cash game must as a stack with Jones.
Noah Fant ($3,600) and Will Dissly ($400) have a huge gap in salary, so if you want to take a shot on either my lean would be Dissly, as he should see 3-5 targets, and his almost minimum price will really let you stack up 5 other top players in a lineup.
Defense / Special Teams
The Seattle DST has allowed 27, 31, and 30 points in each game so far, and at $4,400, I’m not interested in them outside of GPPs. The Giants have allowed 30, 28, and 40 points, so they EW also off my cash game radar at $4,000. Both Myers and Gano are cheap enough to be considered cash game viable if you need to fill a final flex spot.
Monday Night Football NFL DFS Strategy
I think most top lineups will be a 4-2 or 3-3 stack, as this game should be competitive and potentially high scoring, with plenty of skill players on both teams that can be difference-makers. The Giants passing game and the Seahawks run game are where I’m leaning for cash games, while Metcalf is my favorite part of the Seattle passing game for a cash game lineup.
DraftKings DFS Showdown Rankings
1. Daniel Jones – Big time floor/ceiling combo with his rushing ability and no Barkley, facing a pass-funnel defense.
2. Kenneth Walker – My favorite skill player from this game in a fantastic matchup. Great captain play in cash games if you don’t put Jones there.
3. Darren Waller – Highest upside Giants pass-catcher who should see 8-12 targets with a great chance at a TD. Too cheap at $7,000.
4. Parris Campbell – Excellent salary saver at $2,800 who is averaging 6 targets over his last two games.
5. DK Metcalf – Should be on most GPP lineups with Geno that don’t include Walker, and I don’t mind pairing him with Walker in cash games to get some exposure to both the pass and run game of Seattle.
