Sports Info Solutions: MLB DFS Advice for Wednesday, July 25th

SIS

America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.

Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ “SIS Model 3”.

SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm. You can learn more about the development of the algorithm in the RotoGrinders Marketplace.

Pitching Option

Charlie Morton, Houston Astros (FD Price $9,500)

He’s been an elite pitcher all season with an 11-2 record, a 2.96 ERA and an 11.70 K/9.

Hitting Options

C/1B) Mitch Moreland, Boston Red Sox (FD Price $3,600)

Moreland has been productive overall this season (.359 wOBA) and owns a .372 wOBA versus RHP. He’ll face Baltimore righty Dylan Bundy who has struggled against LHB in Camden Yards (.406 wOBA).

2B) Jed Lowrie, Oakland Athletics (FD Price $3200)

Playing those late night games in Oakland hides how good he’s been this season (.280, 17 HR, 65 RBI, .364 wOBA). Opposing starter Martin Perez owns an ugly .467 wOBA against RHB which jumps to a .516 wOBA at home.

3B) Adrian Beltre, Texas Rangers (FD Price $2,700)

Beltre loves home cookin’ producing a .363 wOBA in Arlington.

SS) Andrelton Simmons, Los Angeles Angels (FD Price $2,800)

Simmons has been solid against RHP with a .334 wOBA and is well-priced against James Shields.

OF) Khris Davis, Oakland Athletics (FD Price $4,100)

After four home runs in the last three games, you must keep Davis in the lineup. He’s produced a .378 wOBA against LHP on the road and has a .419 wOBA in July. Combined with Perez’s inability to get out RHP, Davis should continue his assault on pitchers.

OF) Chad Pinder, Oakland Athletics (FD Price $2,900)

Manager Bob Melvin will find a spot for Pinder, who has started at 2B, SS, 3B and outfield this season. He has a .371 wOBA against LHP and a hot bat (.439 wOBA in July).

OF) Stephen Piscotty, Oakland Athletics (FD Price $3,200)

Things have turned around for Piscotty after a slow start. He posted a .386 wOBA in June and a .426 wOBA so far in July. He has smashed a home run in each of the first two games in this series. He’ll be our fourth RHB to face Perez

UTIL) Kole Calhoun, Los Angeles Angels (FD Price $2,900)

Calhoun is only batting .189 on the season, but has finally found his stroke, hitting .283 in July with a .426 wOBA and seven home runs.

Stacking Option

When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.

Oakland A’s – Obviously, considering Davis, Piscotty, Pinder and Lowrie are all listed above.
