NFL Week 14 kicks off in the Windy City as Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys travel north to face the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football. Sports betting sites list the Cowboys as 2.5/3-point favorites coming off a disappointing Thanksgiving Day loss to the Buffalo Bills. Thanks to the Miami Dolphins, the Cowboys are still in the driver’s seat to win the NFC East and make the playoffs.

Thursday Night Football Betting Picks: Cowboys at Bears

Some thought the loss on Thanksgiving might be the final straw for Jason Garrett, but it appears Jerry Jones will give Garrett at least the rest of the season. The Cowboys are still favorites to win the NFC East, but Dallas will likely need to do more than just make the playoffs if Garrett wants to keep his job.

While Cowboys fans still have playoff hopes, Bears fans feel dead in the water, but they aren’t mathematically eliminated from the playoffs yet. Chicago heads into Thursday Night Football with a 6-6 record, which means they’ll likely need to win out and have a bit of help to earn a Wild Card spot.

As I’ve written before, despite their struggles, I still think there’s value on betting on the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl. The time to jump on the Cowboys would have been last Friday and Saturday. Following their loss to the Bills, the Cowboys odds fell to as low as +6000 at some U.S. sportsbooks. Those odds didn’t last long as the Miami Dolphins shocked the Philadelphia Eagles, leaving the NFC East in the same place it was before Thanksgiving. If you’re onboard the Cowboys-value train with me, you’ll want to sign up at William Hill using our promo code. The Dallas Cowboys are +4000 to win the Super Bowl at William Hill, but they’re between +2500 and +3000 elsewhere.

Enough with futures takes, let’s get to the Thursday Night Football picks.

Thursday Night Football Betting Picks: Cowboys at Bears

The Cowboys have had their fair share of struggles, and still don’t have a win against a team with a winning record, but Mitch Trubisky and the Chicago Bears offense have looked lost for most of the season. The Bears rank 26th in percentage of plays that result in positive expected points added while the Cowboys actually lead the league in that category. Chicago’s defense has been good, but it hasn’t been as dominant as it was a year ago. The Cowboys defense has allowed a moderate amount of pressure on passing play, but Prescott has been the league’s best at avoiding sacks as the Cowboys are allowing sacks on a league-low 3.33% of dropbacks. Prescott’s mobility will come in clutch against Khalil Mack.

Both teams are playing for their lives Thursday night, but the Bears offense hasn’t shown anything to make me believe they’ll keep up with the Cowboys enough to cover this spread even the defense shows up.

My Thursday Night Football Pick: Cowboys -3 (-103)

Thursday Night Football Betting Picks — Player Props

Dak Prescott Under 274.5 Passing Yards – With just 12 carries, the Cowboys were criticized for not giving Ezekiel the ball enough against Buffalo. Whether optimal or not, I think the Cowboys will try to establish the run Thursday night while trying to avoid potential turnovers caused by the Bears pass rush. GridironIQ projects Prescott to throw for 262 yards.
