Finding Paydirt: Week 3 NFL Touchdown Picks — Win 2 Months of RG Premium & More Prizes!

Touchdowns, while extremely variant, make or break daily fantasy success and swing thousands of dollars every Sunday. Every weekend, players wait anxiously for the players on their roster to find paydirt. The purpose of the contest is to provide an opportunity for the RotoGrinders community to come together to sweat our touchdown picks together. Did I mention there will be prizes?

Happy Friday, Grinders! We are back with an interesting Week 3 slate. Some of the popular DFS options are pretty gross as many of the better offenses don’t find themselves in excellent spots. Further, we don’t have a no-brainer shootout type game to target. That said, we should be able to find touchdowns. We will start with the updated leaderboard before getting to our Week 3 touchdown betting picks.

The Leaderboard

Please read below for all of our rules and prizes. We saw a bit of action in our leaderboard courtesy of Nick Chubb and his three touchdowns. While Browns’ fans were not happy with that third touchdown, we sure were! Amon-Ra St. Brown chipped in with two touchdowns to give a couple of players a couple of scores early. With two weeks left this quarter, let’s make sure to get the picks in and not fall far behind.

Finding Paydirt Rules and Prizes

Very simple. Each week, I will publish Finding Paydirt on Friday morning — highlighting my favorite touchdown pick for the running back, wide receiver, and tight end position. To participate in the contest, you simply need to read the article and leave your three picks in the comments section. So, easy, right? You will take Jonathan Taylor, Davante Adams, and Travis Kelce! Easy!

Not so fast, friends! There is a catch. Each week, we will run the contest for Sunday’s DraftKings Main Slate (1:00 PM and 4:00 PM games). However, to make things a bit more interesting, I will be cutting the top five priced running backs and wide receivers as well as the top three priced tight ends. Everyone else on the slate is in play.

Each week I will post an updated leaderboard with the total touchdowns accumulated that week and for the season.

So, simply put, read the article, check the cut list, make your three picks in the comments, win prizes! What are the prizes? Read below.

The following prizes will be awarded to players based on their touchdown total for each four-week segment:

First Place – 2 months of RotoGrinders NFL Premium
Second Place – RotoGrinders T-shirt and hat
Third Place – 2 weeks of SAO Premium

The following prizes will be awarded to players based on their touchdown total for the first 16 weeks of the NFL season:

First Place – One month of RotoGrinders Combo Premium
Second Place – RotoGrinders Swag Pack
Third Place – One month of SAO Premium

Now, let’s get into this week’s cut list.

The Week 3 Cut List

Your selections must be on the DraftKings Main Slate and cannot be any of the players below. These players are the top five at both RB and WR and the top three at TE.

Running Back Wide Receiver Tight End
Jonathan Taylor Davante Adams Mark Andrews
Derrick Henry Cooper Kupp Darren Waller
Christian McCaffrey Justin Jefferson Travis Kelce
Austin Ekeler Ja’Marr Chase
Dalvin Cook Stefon Diggs

Now that we have cut the top-priced players, let’s make our Week 3 picks.

NFL Week 3 Touchdown Picks

Joe Mixon – RB – $7,600

This feels like a no brainer after Nick Chubb just ran wild on the Jets in Week 2. Mixon draws the same matchup on the road. The Bengals would surely be wise to take some pressure off of Joe Burrow by running the football, right?

Surprisingly, Mixon doesn’t have a redzone target or rushing attempt yet. With the Bengals playing from behind for the first two weeks, Mixon wasn’t used to lean on the opponent to grind the clock down. The Bengals should take the lead in a game they are favored and Mixon could surely be given opportunities to score in the redzone. With 27 attempts and then 19 attempts, Mixon is the alpha in this backfield and should see the lion’s share of the work.

I don’t want to get cute at this position. FanDuel Sportsbook offers -140 on a Mixon anytime touchdown.

Amon-Ra St. Brown – WR – $7,200

This feels like I am a week late to the party. Yet, are we really that late? St. Brown has been putting up WR1 numbers for a very long time and is only now getting the acclaim that he deserves.

Over his last 8 games, dating back to last season, St. Brown has 8 receiving touchdowns. Playing in a dome against a Vikings defense that just got torched feels like a good spot to deploy the talented young wideout. He also feels pretty script proof. The Lions continue to play very aggressively on offense. On the other hand, if Minnesota takes a lead at home, the Lions will be throwing a lot.

Amon-Ra boasts a +135 price on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Kyle Pitts – TE – $4,800

Kyle Pitts has been dreadfully disappointing this season. Spoken from someone who drafted Kyle Pitts in his favorite home league pretty early, I would really like to see the dynamic athlete start getting the football.

Pitts was barely targeted as Drake London went off in Week 2. While that doesn’t necessarily mean Pitts is due or should score, etc… seeing the big-bodied London feast for the Falcons in the red zone makes me feel like Pitts is due to explode at some point.

The Seahawks aren’t good and if the Falcons are going to score, he should find some room against this defense. I think we take a chance on him before he is relegated to the cut list every week one of our premiere options is on a primetime game.

Grab the +200 for Kyle Pitts to score a touchdown on Caesars Sportsbook.

Thanks for checking out this week’s article. Leave your touchdown picks in the comments for a chance at winning monthly and seasonal prizes.
