2017 FantasyDraft Carolina Millions Recap

Huge congratulations to smalltime, who ran away with the title in the first ever FantasyDraft Carolina Millions!!! He bested a tough field that included such DFS legends as awesemo, papagates, ChipotleAddict, and rikkidee to take home the $200,000 first place prize. Here’s a look at the final standings!

1. smalltime 193.78 $200,000
2. bigmel911 179.36 $175,000
3. janxon 176.16 $150,000
4. rikkidee 172.24 $125,000
5. DailyCrusher 169.78 $100,000
6. bobody 164.62 $75,000
7. Grant73in85iq 160.22 $50,000
8. jherzig 158.62 $35,000
9. ChipotleAddict 154.20 $30,000
10. deeevo 151.62 $25,000
11. awesemo 148.14 $20,000
12. papagates 99.92 $15,000

Our winner started with a Dak Prescott to Dez Bryant stack that combined for 45.88 fpts and added in the chalk Giovani Bernard (91% owned – 19 fpts) to go along with a massive outing from DeAndre Hopkins (also chalky at 83%). Travis Kelce, owned by every player in the contest, was his TE and he got a big bounce back game from Kareem Hunt (25.8 fpts) to set his lineup apart as Hunt was only 8% owned. He trailed slightly coming into the afternoon games but the combination of Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon was more than enough to give him a comfortable 14 point victory over bigmel911.

Here is the winning lineup:

7:10 pm ET

Two games left with the Seahawks-Jaguars and Rams-Eagles (what a shootout) both playing in the 4th quarter. Smalltime has a 15 point lead and looks as if he will be the winner. We’ll be back if anything changes and with the final standings and winning lineup when it’s all over.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

6:35 pm ET

Smalltime has started to pull away after the Seahawks scored a TD against the Jaguars DST. He currently has a 13 point lead over bigmel911.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

6:15 pm ET

A Melvin Gordon TD run has moved smalltime into the lead and bigmel911 is going to need some Jacksonville D fireworks in order to pull off the win.

5:45 pm ET

We’re heading into the last half of all the games (a few games still wrapping up the first half) and we have a dogfight between bigmel911 and smalltime with bigmel holding the slightest of leads. It’s really a 1v1 of the Jaguars DST against Melvin Gordon. I give the edge to smalltime, who has Gordon, as the Jaguars DST will lose points if they give up a score (to their credit, they have not yet). Here’s a look at the current standings and our top two lineups (click on image to expand).

4:30 pm ET

Bigmel911 has taken the lead thanks to the automatic 10 points you get for a defense (which he got with the Jacksonville DST).

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

4:05 pm ET

Smalltime is looking good as he has a 10 point lead and as mentioned before two players yet to play. Here’s a look at the current standings as the afternoon games get started.

3:30 pm ET

It’s close at the top of the standings as smalltime leads by less than two points over bobody. The only other person above 100 fpts is bigmel911 who is 12 points behind our leader. Smalltime still has Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon left to play so he’s looking good as bobody only has Gurley left. Bigmel has Gurley and the Jags D.

3:00 pm ET

The two player that didn’t play DeAndre Hopkins are fighting an uphill battle as he scored yet another TD and is up to 39.4 fpts. Here’s the current top 10 – smalltime continues to lead:

2:30 pm ET

DeAndre Hopkins scores a TD but he’s owned by 10 of the 12 finalists so it did little to change the standings.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

2:25 pm ET

Smalltime, on the strength of a Dak Prescott to Dez Bryant TD (he owns both in a stack) has taken the lead. He also benefited from the Kareem Hunt TD earlier. Bobody is still hanging in there in second place.

1:57 pm ET

We’re about one hour in – here’s a look at our current standings and it’s bobody currently holding a nearly double digit lead.

1:22 pm ET

A 25% owned Josh Gordon scores a TD – that changes things a big and now it is janxon in the lead over bobody (who does not have Gordon).

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

A Theo Riddick TD (8% owned) has moved bobody into the current lead.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Jamaal Williams and Jonathan Stewart both scored on long TDs. No one owned them though so there is no impact.

We’ll be back after lock with an initial look at who is in the FantasyDraft Carolina Millions, a link to the final, and some analysis. Stay tuned!
