What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9
- Favored Team – TOR -240
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home If I have learned anything about R.A. Dickey on the year it is that he rarely does what he is expected to do. We just watch Mark Buerhle destroy this HOU team yesterday and Dickey is an even bigger favorite today with the splits in his favor. He seems a lock to get the win and a large number of Ks. His home ERA is a very high 5.84, though, and just gave up 6 ER to MIN. Just Saying HOU is batting .241 on the road, .229 versus right-handers, and .250 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 8
- Away There is no way you can consider taking Jordan Lyles today with his ERA and the line and OU set so unfavorably. TOR is batting .260 at home, .253 versus right-handers, and .255 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 2
Batter Grind Down
- Home Jose Bautista, Jose Reyes, Edwin Ancarnacion, and Brett Lawrie have been hot for TOR. Adam Lind is still hitting right-handers at a high clip. RG Stack Rating 7
- Away If I were going to play an Astro then it would be Jason Castro or Brett Wallace who have the potential to go deep and have the righty/lefty thing working in their favor. RG Stack Rating 1

PIT vs R | PIT BvP | MIA vs L | MIA BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – PIT -152
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home Henderson Alvarez is off to a nice start since joining the rotation but do not buy into his early success or the low OU. He is going to get hit pretty hard today even by this PIT team that is not all that good on the road. First, his WHIP is above what his career average is at 1.38, which tells me that low ERA f 3.28 will soon be closer to his career average of 4.41 also. Second, he is allowing left-handers to bat .361 with a .912 OPPS versus him. I can think of a couple big left-handed bats in PIT that I will be taking today. PIT is batting .240 on the road, .242 versus right-handers, and .248 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 3
- Away Jeff Locke has been a quality start machine all year. He is actually been better on the road than he has been at home and MIA has been worse hitting team at home also. His K totals are a little too low for you to think about him in a single pitcher site tonight with all of the studs going but he is more than playable in a multiple pitcher format. MIA is batting .234 at home, .229 versus left-handers, and .221 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 7
Batter Grind Down
- Home Adeiny Hechavarria and Giancario Stanton have been producing for MIA. Ed Lucas and Placido Polanco are both batting over .300 versus left-handers RG Stack Rating 2
- Away Pedro Alvarez and Garrett Jones are the best options today. Andre McCutchen has been red hot with 29.75 fp as well. I think Travis Snider could be a sneaky GPP play also if he gets the start. RG Stack Rating 5

STL vs L | STL BvP | ATL vs R | ATL BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – STL -120
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home Mike Minor ‘s ERA may be slightly higher at home but he has a lower BAA and higher K/9 at home, which makes him more attractive to me when he plays at Turner Field. STL is a weird team because the are loaded with right-handed bats but they actually hit left-handers much worse than the do right-handers. The problem with Minor today is that his limited career starts versus STL have not gone well and STL owns a .424 BAA versus him as a team. STL is batting .274 on the road, .249 versus left-handers, and .302 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 7
- Away Adam Wainwright ‘s numbers take a strong dip on the road. His ERA jumps a full point to 2.93 and his K/9 falls from 8.99 to just under 7. Plus, he is allowing opponents a .274 BAA versus him on the road. His Ks should get some help today from this ATL team that is second in the league in KS but I am not sure his ERA will get any help. ATL is batting .258 at home, .251 versus right-handers, and .230 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 7
Batter Grind Down
- Home Dan Uggla, Andrelton Simmons and Freddie Freeman have all been hot for ATL. Brian McCann, Chris Johnson, and Freddie Freeman are hitting right-handers at a high clip. RG Stack Rating
- Away Yadier Molina is batting .380 versus left-handers on the year. Allen Craig is batting .316 versus them. Carlos Beltran, Matt Carpenter, Allen Craig and Matt Holliday have all taken Minor deep in limited ABs. Pete Kozma makes a nice low priced play at SS versus the lefty. RG Stack Rating 5

KCR vs L | KCR BvP | CHW vs R | CHW BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – KAN -115
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home Jose Quintana has been secretly dealing on the year. With an ERA in the mid 3s, he has managed to hold opponents to 3 or less runs in 9 of his last 11 starts. He does not go deep enough into games or get enough Ks to consider in a single pitcher format but he is more than playable against this weak KAN offense at home in a multiple pitcher format because of his price. KAN is batting .262 on the road, .261 versus left-handers, and .255 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 5
- Away James Shields gets an easy matchup also in CHW but they have been playing much better as of late. Shields has been a beast on the road with 2.74 ERA. He is high K guy and playable every time he takes the mound. CHW is batting .241 at home, .233 versus left-handers, and .262 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 8
Batter Grind Down
- Home I said CHW needed to show me something before I would play them. They are starting to but I am not there yet. RG Stack Rating 2
- Away Quintana is another reverse split player. He is allowing left-handed bats to hit .276 off of him so the hot bat of Eric Hosmer is in play. Billy Butler hits left-handed pitching very well and is play also. Mike Moustakes is 7-18 with 2 HRs versus Quintana. Salvador Perez is 4-13 with 1 HR versus him as well. RG Stack Rating 4

MIL vs R | MIL BvP | COL vs R | COL BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9
- Favored Team – COL -150
Pitcher Grind Down
- Home I know the game just went under 4 times in a row in COL but I still do not believe you can take Tyler Chatwood today. He is allowing to bat .320 versus him at home and MIL may be struggling without their 2 big bats but they still have plent of firepower to put up a big number today in Coors Field. MIL is batting .248 on the road, .254 versus right-handers, and .228 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 3
- Away Wily Peralta has had some pretty good games over the last month. I am still not excited about his WHIP and I think COL has been too quiet for too long but MIA young arms just shut them down so maybe a hot Peralta with a 0.31 ERA in July with a .161 BAA can do the same. COL is batting .277 at home, .267 versus right-handers, and .235 over the last 7 days.. RG Start-Ability 4
Batter Grind Down
- Home Michael Cuddyer and Troy Tulowitzki are both batting over .350 versus right-handers and over .350 at home. Probably best to avoid Carlos Gonzalez today even if he plays because that finger injury might effect his swing. RG Stack Rating 6
- Away Norichika Aoki, Carlos Gomez and Jonathan Lucroy have all been hot for MIL. Jean Segura is batting over .300 versus right-handers. Caleb Gindi has been seeing the Lion’s share of Ryan Brauns time in the OF. RG Stack Rating 6
