TJ Zwarych is one of the top up and coming Daily Fantasy Sports players in the world. The Agents of Fantasy are a brand new segment where TJ brings his love for Fandom into the Daily Fantasy Sports circle, to help you take down tournaments.

May 27th

Each segment, the Fantastic Four will include my top 4 pitchers for tournaments on FanDuel and DraftKings. At times, they’ll include plays who are picking up ownership if I feel like the rostership still doesn’t reflect their upside. Typically, if there is a cash game lock and someone who is pushing 50% rostered, these pitchers won’t get mentioned. However, sometimes on smaller slates, four pitchers won’t be an option. As Friday marks the release of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+ being covered by the Agents of Fandom we will switch the style up a bit today.

The Rule of the Sith: There Can Only Be Two – Best MLB DFS Picks*

Carlos Carrasco 9500 DK / 8300 FD – While it’s tough to fault anyone for playing Shane Bieber in an amazing matchup against Detroit, he will pick up immense rostership today. Unfortunately, my favorite early build lands with him as pitcher, however we do have a risky straight line pivot who may be even stronger with the Force. Bieber’s tilt to the Dark Side has lowered his velocity, and Carrasco is playing with fire facing a powerful Phillies lineup in good weather. The difference? Carrasco will be rostered a quarter of the percentage as Bieber. The downside is scary, as is the case when dabbling in the Dark Side of the force, but Carrasco makes for a very interesting tournament pivot.

Alek Manoah 10200 DK/FD – The Angels pose a very scary top of the lineup, however the back half are basically just a droid army. Alek Manoah has the command to move the ball at will only like someone powerful with the force could. He can match Verlander’s upside, but due to the matchup won’t be rostered at near the same rate. Manoah’s fast ball/slider combo should fare well against the Angels right-handed bats, and he should be in line for a huge game if he can get through Trout, Ohtani and Walsh.

The Jedi Order – MLB DFS Stacks

I can’t fault you for rostering the Dodgers or Red Sox tonight, both of these teams are in great spots and lead me to the promise land last night. If choosing between the two chalky teams, I like the Dodgers a bit more. For the sake of differentiation on a large slate, we will look to find Jedi scoured throughout the Galaxy Far Far away, hiding from Order 66. These Jedi won’t be as well known as Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Red Sox or the Dodgers, but will have similar upside and command of the force, ready to help defeat the Empire.

Atlanta Braves – The Braves are playing in the best hitting weather on the slate, and although missing Ronald Acuna will make their lineup weaker, it also reduces the price. Atlanta poses a ton of power against left-handed batters, with Albies, Swanson, Riley, Olsen, Contreras and Ozuna all being among my top plays on the slate. Keep an eye on Ozuna as he was a late scratch from last night’s game, but this stack makes for a low-owned, incredibly high option against Trevor Rodgers and the Marlins, outside of their pitcher friendly home stadium. I’ll be even with the field on the Red Sox and Dodgers tonight, but the Braves will without a doubt be the team I’m most overweight on, relative to the field.

Houston Astros – Powerful like Mace Windu, not quite as wise as Master Yoda, the Houston Astros were forced to hide in the dark depths of the outer rim after their cheating scandal. While this hasn’t stopped DFS players from rostering them, tonight no one seems to want to go their way. Yordan Alvarez and company are ready to skyrocket DFS lineups from the late night hammer against Chris Flexen, who although is a respectable bounty hunter, has no ability to strike out his opponents. No one is playing the Astros tonight, but I plan on doing it, and I think you should too. There is no try, only do.

Toronto Blue Jays – Death, Taxes, and the Dean Mush. Although death has been dodged at times in a Galaxy Far Far Away, even the Dean Mush makes it’s way to the outer rim. Host of Grinders Live, the DFS Almanac himself is the king of reversing fortune. Says a team will do well? They’re getting no hit. Headed to support his Miami Heat at home in the playoffs? They’re taking the L. The Toronto Blue Jays are no exception. Fresh off of asking me why my Blue Jays aren’t performing up to expectations this year, Vlad Guerrero Jr woke back up and flexed his otherwordly power, and a Springer Dinger to lead off the game against Shohei Ohtani set the tone. The Blue Jays are a high upside offense I’m always interested in when they aren’t being played by the field, and the bats are ready and awake to keep things going against a less daunting foe in Chase Silseth.
