For each segment, the Fantastic Four will include my top 4 pitchers for tournaments on FanDuel and DraftKings. They’ll sometimes include plays picking up ownership if I feel like the rostership still doesn’t reflect their upside. Typically, if there is a cash game lock and someone who is pushing 50% rostered, these pitchers won’t get mentioned. However, sometimes on smaller slates, four pitchers won’t be an option.
The Fantastic Four – Best MLB DFS Picks

Gerrit Cole is going to be the chalk on Tuesday night, and his abilities stack up above the competition tonight so it’s no surprise. Cole hasn’t consistently been his dominant self this season, but he still flashes immense upside. He’s included in the 4 due to the lack of options I like tonight, but let’s try to find some ways to match that upside tonight.
Spencer Strider 9100 FD / 9800 DK – Strider is the only pitcher that will approach the rostership of Cole tonight, however, his recent game log is difficult to ignore. Strider has the top strikeout upside on the slate, and it’s really all about whether or not you believe the recent form is sustainable. He’s had double-digit strikeouts in his last two, however, we have also seen him get lit up in the past. His upside is simply too difficult to ignore if you’re playing more than one lineup, he needs to be in your pool.
Luis Garcia 9500 FD / 10100 DK – This is one of the most interesting spots of the night. The Angels lineup has a 25% projected strikeout rate, and Garcia is no slouch at making batters miss. Alternatively, I also have a lot of interest in Trout, Ohtani and Walsh in tournaments. However, Garcia’s potential upside in comparison to his rostership is far too big of a gap. He’s one of the players that can match Gerrit Cole upside tonight, and will come in at 10 times less rostership.
Mitch White 6900 FD / 7800 DK – White is a lot more appealing on Fanduel where his strikeout ability is more heavily rewarded. White is a risky option to be sure, however, he also has the ability to put up a big score at a low price. While this isn’t a sure thing by any means, I really think the pitching on this slate falls off after the top few. With risky players like Chris Sale and Strider being rostered anyways, I’m willing to roll the dice on another high-risk/reward play like White.
Earth’s Mightiest MLB DFS Stacks For Today

San Diego Padres – The Padres are the top stack on the board, and I’m fine with playing them at high rostership in Coors under a few conditions. I wouldn’t want to pair them with a chalky pitcher like Strider and Cole unless my secondary stack is aggressively off the board. Having said that, Manny Machado is the top player on the board, and the rest of the team provides some nice salary-saving options.
Toronto Blue Jays – If we’re pivoting off of the chalky Padres, we need to find a stack that can match the upside that isn’t being played by the field at the same frequency. Bellati has shown a ton of strikeout upside in a limited sample size, however, he also gets hit incredibly hard when batters make contact. With only 3 players in the lineup with a strikeout rate over 20%, the Blue Jays should be able to put up a lot of runs if they can figure out how to make contact on the young pitcher.
Seattle Mariners – Julio Rodriguez is one of the most fun young players in the league, and the Mariners are always a fun stack when they get a good matchup, because for some reason the field never likes playing them. Whether it’s a mini stack with Rodriguez and the newly rejuvenated Carlos Santana or a full 4-5 man, the Mariners are my favorite team to get off the board and different with tonight.
