MLB Player Props Today
- Salvador Perez to hit a home run
- Austin Riley to hit a home run
- Shane Bieber less than 19.5 outs
Salvador Perez to hit a home run (+260), FanDuel
In 2022, Salvador Perez ranked 32nd in home runs per plate appearance out of 277 batters with at least 300 trips to the batter’s box in 2022. Last season, Perez was at his best against southpaws, with an .845 OPS and five home runs in 119 plate appearances. Today, he gets a great matchup against Yusei Kikuchi, who had a 6.31 FIP, 1.64 WHIP, and allowed 21 home runs against right-handed batters. At first pitch, the forecast is projecting winds of roughly 20 miles–per-hour blowing out towards left field at Kauffman Stadium. Perez is a great look in this spot if participating in FanDuel’s dinger tuesday promotion.
Austin Riley to hit a home run (+340), FanDuel
Last year, Austin Riley slaughtered southpaws – posting a 1.084 OPS, .342 ISO, and hitting 11 home runs against them in 172 plate appearances. Tonight, he gets a favorable matchup against Steven Matz, who owns a 4.48 FIP and a 1.29 WHIP in his career against right-handed batters. Moreover, 108 of the 122 home runs that Matz has allowed since he debuted in 2015 have come against right-handed hitters. At first pitch, the forecast is projecting winds of just under 20 miles-per-hour blowing out towards left field. Riley is the top target for a dinger in this matchup, despite the fact that five other players have shorter odds to put one over the wall in this contest.
MLB DFS Pick’em
Shane Bieber less than 19.5 pitching outs, PrizePicks
In his first start of the season, Shane Bieber recorded an efficient 18 outs on 87 pitches against the Seattle Mariners. In his second turn through the rotation, Bieber will get to face the Oakland Athletics, which boast an unimpressive offensive attack, despite scoring 11 runs yesterday. Also factoring into this line is the fact that Cleveland was forced to burn through five relief arms in Monday’s extra-inning affair. Still, Bieber has only eclipsed this market number in 16 of 34 starts since the beginning of last season, including 10 of 20 road starts. Strong winds blowing out toward right field could lead to some damage done against Bieber in this spot, which could limit his leash as well. The under is the smart lean.
