NBA Player Props, March 19, 2023

Trey Murphy 15+ points (-110), FanDuel

Trey Murphy burned us two nights ago in this same matchup, but the math warrants us running it back on Sunday. On Friday, Murphy scored six points in the first quarter, but managed only 13 points for the contest after an inefficient 4-for-11 shooting performance from the floor. Still, Murphy enters play having scored at least 15 points in six of his last seven games, including a 41-point game against the Portland Trail Blazers on March 12. During the month of March, Murphy has seen a dramatic increase in his playing time, averaging 36.3 minutes per game. According to props.cash, Murphy has scored at least 15 points in 23 of 35 games this season in which he has played at least 30 minutes. He has scored at least 15 points in 15 of 17 games played this season when he has seen at least 35 minutes of playing time. Assuming he sees 30-plus minutes once again, Murphy has an excellent opportunity to hit this mark again on Sunday against the Houston Rockets, which rank 28th in defensive efficiency, 16th in opponent field goal percentage, 29th in opponent three-point percentage, and 15th in opponent free throw attempts allowed per game across the last month.

James Wiseman o12.5 points (-106), FanDuel

Heading into Sunday, James Wiseman has scored at least 12 points in seven consecutive games, including five games with at least 14 points. Across the last 30 days, the Miami Heat rank 25th in defensive efficiency, 25th in opponent field goal percentage in the restricted area, and 30th in opponent field goal percentage in the paint. Since joining the Detroit Pistons, Wiseman is attempting 10.7 field goal attempts per game, 8.9 of which are coming in the restricted area or the paint. In the last few weeks, Miami has allowed 13 points to Nikola Vucevic, 27 points to Wendell Carter Jr., 15 points to Jarrett Allen, and 16 points to Clint Capela. Wiseman should have every opportunity to hit the over in this spot.

Bam Adebayo o19.5 points (-108), FanDuel

Bam Adebayo is averaging 21.3 points per game on 15.9 shot attempts when playing on the road this season. Adebayo played 34 minutes last night against the Chicago Bulls, scoring 23 points. Tonight, he gets a favorable matchup against the Detroit Pistons, which rank 21st in opponent field goal attempts in the restricted area and 21st in opponent field goal attempts across the last 30 days. On the season, Adebayo is averaging 15.3 shot attempts, 13.3 of which have come in the restricted area or the paint. On December 6, Adebayo scored 21 points against the Pistons, playing on the second night of a back-to-back set. Trust him to get the job done once again.
