NBA Player Props, February 7, 2023

DeMar DeRozan o4.5 assists (-140), PointsBet

According to EdgHouse, DeMar DeRozan has eclipsed this market number in 31 of 50 games played this season, including 17 of 22 games played since December 18. Across his last 22 games, DeRozan leads the Chicago Bulls in potential assists, averaging 9.5 per game as the team’s top facilitator. This evening, he gets a favorable matchup against a Memphis Grizzlies defense that ranks 29th out of 30 teams in opponent assists allowed per game across the last month of action – take the over.

Julius Randle o4.5 assists (-110), MGM

Since Mitchell Robinson last played a full game on January 16, Julius Randle is averaging 5.7 assists and 9.2 potential assists per game, establishing himself as the team’s clear second-best facilitator behind Jalen Brunson. On Tuesday, Randle has a favorable matchup against an Orlando Magic defense that ranks 26th out of 30 teams in opponent assists across their last 15 contests. If R.J. Barrett is ruled out, the over gains even more steam here. Per CourtIQ, Randle is averaging 5.0 assists per 36 minutes of action this year when Barrett is off of the floor. This play is stronger with Barrett out of the lineup – wait for confirmation on Barrett’s status if possible.

C.J. McCollum o5.5 assists (-115), FanDuel

On Sunday, we were on this exact same play, but it did not cash for two reasons – 1) Brandon Ingram was surprisingly ruled out shortly before tip-off; 2) the New Orleans Pelicans won by 32 points, limiting C.J. McCollum to 23 minutes of playing time. Stll, McCollum dished out four assists and had nine potential assists in his limited action. Prior to Sunday, he had played at least 34 minutes in eight consecutive contests. Tonight, he has a favorable matchup against an Atlanta Hawks defense that ranks 19th in opponent assists allowed per game across the last 30 days. Expect a competitive game script, and for McCollum to have a great opportunity to cash the over here for bettors.
