NBA Player Props, February 8, 2023

Bam Adebayo o21.5 points (-113), FanDuel

Bam Adebayo has scored 21 points or fewer in 10 of his last 14 games, but there are reasons to invest in the over on his points prop tonight, despite the ostensibly high market number. Per CourtIQ, when Kyle Lowry and Victor Oladipo are both off of the floor this season, Adebayo sees a 1.6% increase in usage and is averaging 24.5 points per 36 minutes of action. In eight games with Lowry off of the court this year, Adebayo has eclipsed this market number five times, with two games of exactly 20 points. On Wednesday, Adebayo gets a favorable matchup against an Indiana Pacers team that has struggled mightily in recent weeks to defend the center position. According to props.cash, each of the last seven true centers to have a points prop released against the Pacers have hit the over. Adebayo is averaging 15.9 shot attempts per game this season, 13.7 of which are coming in the restricted area or the paint. Across the last 30 days, Indiana ranks 29th in opponent field goal attempts in the restricted area and 17th in opponent field goal percentage in the paint. This is a great matchup for Adebayo, take the over.

Pascal Siakam o29.5 points + assists (-125), DraftKings

Per props.cash, Pascal Siakam has eclipsed this market number in 23 of 45 games this season, including 14 of 22 games at home, and three of four contests played on two days of rest. Tonight, Siakam gets an extremely favorable matchup against a San Antonio Spurs team that ranks sixth in pace, 30th in defensive efficiency, 30th in opponent field goal percentage, 30th in opponent three-point percentage, and 20th in opponent free-throw attempts per game across the last month. Take the over here.

Fred VanVleet o6.5 assists (-140), PointsBet

Since January 4, Fred VanVleet has eclipsed this market number in 13 of 17 games. In that span, he is averaging a team-leading 7.5 assists and 13.2 potential assists per contest. In his most recent outing against the Sacramento Kings, VanVleet had an astounding 20 potential assists, which was more than double any other play on the roster. On Wednesday, VanVleet has a favorable matchup against a San Antonio Spurs defense that ranks 30th in defensive efficiency and 28th in opponent assists per game across the last month. Expect VanVleet to have plenty of volume once again, and for him to have a great chance to cash the over in this spot.
