Primetime Parlay: Chargers vs. Colts Same Game Parlay Picks

Chargers vs Colts Same Game Parlay

ScoresAndOdds’ ParlayIQ tool simulates NFL contests thousands of times using RotoGrinders’ NFL Statistical Projections. Along with the simulations, we will examine stats, roster news, trends, player props, and betting odds across sports betting sites to find the best price for our same-game parlay ticket. For this article, we build a Monday Night Football same-game parlay for the Colts vs Chargers.

With a victory, the Los Angeles Chargers clinch a spot in the playoffs despite an uneven season filled with injuries and inconsistency. Booking wins as of late, the Chargers look to erase the pain of barely missing the playoffs last season. On the other side of the field, we have the Colts who will trot Nick Foles out to play quarterback as the season comes to a disappointing close. For us, we can always make things interesting by building a same-game parlay ticket for the primetime affair.

Same Game Parlay for Chargers vs. Colts

FanDuel Sportsbook posts the Chargers as four-point favorites on the road on Monday night. The line opened at -3 but moved a point. Per SAO, 64% of betting tickets sit with the Los Angeles side while the handle is nearly an even split. As mentioned before, the Chargers clinch a playoff spot with a victory and would move into the five seed ahead of the Ravens.

The game total rests at 45.5 points. 62% of the betting tickets are on the over. The number moved up to 47.5 before plummeting two points to the number on game day. For a more in-depth preview of the game and both sides, read tonight’s betting preview.

As for injuries, the Chargers will return Derwin James from his quad injury. The Colts will start Nick Foles with Sam Ehlinger backing up the veteran. Jonathan Taylor is out for the rest of the season after enduring a high-ankle sprain against the Vikings. Zack Moss and Deon Jackson will split duties as Jordan Wilkins was called up from the practice squad for depth. Kyle Granson did not practice on Friday and is likely out for Monday Night Football.

We are ready to pick out some props for tonight’s betting ticket. Let’s build a one-game parlay ticket on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Same Game Parlay Picks – Chargers & Colts Props

Keenan Allen Over 60.5 Receiving Yards

Our simulations dig it. Projections dig it. I dig it.

Keenan Allen is back in the offensive fold for the Chargers and has made a great impact on the continuity and flow of the offense. Allen has three games of 9, 14, and 14 targets. He exceeded 80 receiving yards in all of those contests.

Being indoors with no weather concerns helps an offense that is going to want to pass the football to move downfield. The Colts are right around middle-of-the-pack in yards per pass attempt on defense. Allen is going to see his double-digit targets and convert more often than not. This is an easy start.

Zack Moss Over 55.5 Rushing Yards

The Chargers are the second-worst rushing defense with respect to yards per attempt in the NFL (5.3 YPA). Over the last few weeks, despite the winning ways, the Chargers still ceded 5.0 yards per carry on the ground. Jeff Saturday unquestionably wants to run the football.

Last weekend, when the Colts blew an enormous lead to the Vikings, Zack Moss and Deon Jackson combined for 39 carries. With a big lead, the offense had great reason to run often. That said, there is no doubt that the way to beat the Chargers is to run the football. With Nick Foles making his first start, we have no reason to believe that Jeff Saturday wants to throw the ball all over.

Moss saw 24 carries last week. Twenty rushing attempts are not out of the question. ParlayIQ loves this leg, simulating a hit rate of over 60% of the time.

Deon Jackson Over 10.5 Receiving Yards

Speaking of the backfield, Deon Jackson should be active again in the absence of Jonathan Taylor. Zack Moss is not a pass-catching running back. Jackson has already flashed ability in the receiving game this season.

While Jackson has not approached this number in quite some time, he also hasn’t needed to be featured at all. If the Chargers claim a lead in this contest, the Colts will be in passing situations on third down looking to throw. We won’t need much from a couple of Jackson targets to burst through this number.

Jelani Woods Over 22.5 Receiving Yards

Finally, without Kyle Granson, Jelani Woods should see plenty of volume in the aforementioned situation when the Colts are down. Without Granson, Woods broke out against Pittsburgh with 9 targets for 98 yards. While that is a bit of an outlier, I wouldn’t be surprised to see 4-5 targets in Woods’ direction.

With those targets, 23 yards is not a big ask. Woods has shown enough upside with the ball in his hands to find 20+ yard receptions. I feel good about including this leg in our projected game script.
