Quarterback Quick Hits
- #1 – Russell Wilson – (MIN@SEA) This is an easy call this week. At home, against a bad defense, in a game the Seahawks really want to put away quickly. Also it will be an interesting watch to see how they use Harvin this week. An extra weapon for Russ
- #2 – Colin Kaepernick – (SF@NO) The 49ers really need this game. With the weapons down on offense for San Fran I think it’s just about time to turn to Kaep’s legs for the answers. Running QB’s pile up points so quickly in NFL DFS.
- #3 – Carson Palmer – (ARI@JAC) Palmer is not good anymore and the offensive line is bad also. However he has some good weapons and this is Jacksonville. That means he is 100% in play and capable of doing some damage. Jax won this past week…that means you can expect them to roll over and lose another 9 in a row now.
- #4 – Terrelle Pryor – (OAK@HOU) Running QB’s has been a theme for me all year long. Pryor is as good a runner as there is at QB spot. Houston is a shell of its former solid self on defense and just lacks any kind of punch on defense without Cushing. I think Pryor can run for 100 yards in this one.
Due to news this week of a Pryor injury that looks worse than I initially thought, I am downgrading him on my sheet this week.He needs his legs to be effective and he doesn’t look like he is going to have them at 100% this weekend - #5 – Andrew Luck – (IND@TEN) After that good a$$ kicking they just took from the Rams, and the fact that they cannot run with that Alabama bust in the backfield, this will be a game Luck dominates. He won’t let them lose 2 games in a row to inferior opponents.
- #6 – Ben Roethlisberger – (DET@PIT) Big ben has a nice, affordable salary. He is also slowly looking better than he did in the beginning of the year. The Lions have trouble sacking the QB. Lucky for Big ben cause that’s the weakness of this O-Line. So if he has a little extra time to throw, he has some weapons and should pay off that salary.
- #7 – Cam Newton – (NE@CAR) This Carolina team is on a roll. Now they get Brady after a bye week and I think they will be hard pressed to stop him like they just did the 49ers. That means extra emphasis on Cam to score this week.
- #8 – Robert Griffin III – (WAS@PHI) RG3 finally had a huge breakout game this past week. This is a matchup that screams high scoring. I believe he is able to throw for 2 TD’s and add one on the ground in this crucial game for the Skins.
- #9 – Nick Foles – (WAS@PHI) Speaking of the high scoring game, Foles is on fire. The Redskins are not good in the secondary and Foles should be able to tag them for another couple of scores.
- #10 – Philip Rivers – (SD@MIA) I got to hand it to Rivers; I thought he was washed up coming into this season. He has proven me wrong by going out every single week and posting solid fantasy lines. Mia is not that good on defense and Rivers is running this new offense like a champ. I project yet another 300 yards and 2 TD’s for Rivers.

Chop’s Top-10 Running Backs on Draftstreet This Week
| 1 | Eddie Lacy | $10928 | 2 | Frank Gore | $12222 | 3 | Reggie Bush | $12436 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | ||||||
| 4 | Knowshon Moreno | $11964 | 5 | LeSean McCoy | $12879 | 6 | Alfred Morris | $10556 |
| | | ||||||
| 7 | Andre Ellington | $9116 | 8 | Le’Veon Bell | $10407 | 9 | Jamaal Charles | $15438 |
| | | ||||||
| 10 | Brian Leonard | $4723 | ||||||
| ||||||||
Running Back Quick Hits
- #1 – Eddie Lacy – (GB@NYG) On paper the Giants are decent against the run, but I believe the Packers could run against just about anybody if they commit to it. With the 3rd string QB starting, I think we get that commitment this week.
- #2 – Frank Gore – (SF@NO) New Orleans is playing rock solid pass defense and iffy run defense. Gore is still a threat to kill the stat sheet and this may be the #1 option to lean on for SF.
- #3 – Reggie Bush – (DET@PIT) Pit also has trouble defending the run, giving up a robust 4.2 yards per carry. Bush should find gaps and holes and hit them all day
- #4 – Knowshon Moreno – (KC@DEN) Sneaky solid play here. This is a huge game for both teams. Peyton is slightly banged up. KC will put efforts into defending these 4 receivers and Manning. Next thing you know, Knowshon will find the end zone 2 or 3 times. It happens constantly when Manning is the QB.
- #5 – LeSean McCoy – (WAS@PHI) Shady had a nice game last week to re-affirm his status as a great RB. Now Washington and their putrid defense roll into town. He will run right through them
- #6 – Alfred Morris – (WAS@PHI) I like RG3 this week, but I also like the matchup for Morris. Although the Eagles defend the run well by rankings, I think this type of attack will be tough for them to handle. When he faced them 1st game of the year he scored 12.5 fantasy points on them on just 13 touches. The last 2 weeks he’s getting an average of 25.5 touches per game. If he keeps that up he will go for 20+ points this weekend.
- #7 – Andre Ellington – (ARI@JAC) Ellington is my choice for breakout star this week. I know he’s already broken out once, but everyone expected that though. This time he’s under the radar. He got 13 touches against Houston and was, by far, much better than Mendenhall. Throw in a key late Mendenhall fumble and I think the keys are going to be handed over to Ellington. Oh yeah, he goes against Jacksonville!
- #8 – Le’Veon Bell – (DET@PIT) Bell has been very good this year and still as a nice salary that allows you to fill other spots on your team. Decent matchup and nice workload should equal solid points
- #9 – Jamaal Charles – (KC@DEN) he’d b higher on the list if not for the salary being so high. However I think he is good for a great stat line in this game by coming out the backfield and catching a ton of passes.
- #10 – Brian Leonard 1 – (ATL@TB) Atlanta defense is not good this year, especially against the run. Whoever gets the start will be a great play at a low price. Keep your ears open for later in the week when they drop the announcement.
1 – Note: Brian Leonard is listed, but pay close attention to whether it’s Bobby Rainey or Brian Leonard who is likely to see more reps as we get closer to Sunday.

Chop’s Top-10 Wide Receivers on Draftstreet This Week
| 1 | T.Y. Hilton | $10519 | 2 | Josh Gordon | $11341 | 3 | Pierre Garcon | $12251 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | ||||||
| 4 | Calvin Johnson | $15754 | 5 | Andre Johnson | $13675 | 6 | Wes Welker | $11828 |
| | | ||||||
| 7 | DeSean Jackson | $12435 | 8 | Riley Cooper | $10344 | 9 | Jordy Nelson | $9748 |
| | | ||||||
| 10 | Percy Harvin | $7917 | ||||||
| ||||||||
Wide Receiver Quick Hits
- #1 – T.Y. Hilton – (IND@TEN) His salary isn’t climbing up enough to match his status as one of the better WR options in fantasy in my opinion. Keep on playing him until he lets down from his current pace
- #2 – Josh Gordon – (CLE@CIN) Out of a bye week I would be shocked if they didn’t figure out more ways to get their best offensive weapon the ball. CIN is loaded with injuries on defense right now
- #3 – Pierre Garcon – (WAS@PHI) Garcon had a big game last week and should be able to build on that against a defense that struggles to defend WR’s.
- #4 – Calvin Johnson – (DET@PIT) Not an ideal matchup against Ike Taylor, but no one can defend Calvin 1 on 1. Teams that have a top corner tend to want to shadow CJ and that only leads to big games for CJ. He has to be doubled to be stopped. He’ll eat Taylor up.
- #5 – Andre Johnson – (OAK@HOU) Finally someone at QB for Houston decided to give one of the games best WR’s the ball more. Big shocker- he is producing. He should tear up the Raiders secondary, although I am a bit leery of the inevitable let down of both Keenum and Andre.
- #6 – Wes Welker – (KC@DEN) Denver will get passing yards and TD’s. Against a good defense, my guess is that a lot of that production comes from the slot guy.
- #7 – DeSean Jackson – (WAS@PHI) Going with 2 Philly WR’s here because I think they can both be productive against a weak defense in a huge game. DeSean and his numbers speak for themselves.
- #8 – Riley Cooper – (WAS@PHI) With Foles at QB, Cooper is a solid play. With Foles starting he has averaged 112 yards a game with 6 TD’s. He is Foles favorite target. Compare that to the 20 yards a game and 1 TD with Vick at QB…wonder why that could be.
- #9 – Jordy Nelson – (GB@NYG) Oh how the might Jordy Nelson is going to waste without Rodgers being healthy. He’s on the list, down at #9, due to the uncertainty at QB for the Packers.
- #10 – Percy Harvin – (MIN@SEA) I may be a little ambitious here, and I’ll have to change this ranking if indeed he doesn’t play, but all signs point toward the return of Harvin. I think he could be the best wr option in the league with Wilson as a QB going forward if he is healthy. I am anxious to see him perform, at home, with a good QB.

Chop’s Top-5 Tight Ends on Draftstreet This Week
| 1 | Jordan Reed | $9920 | 2 | Antonio Gates | $8739 | 3 | Jimmy Graham | $13453 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | ||||||
| 4 | Rob Gronkowski | $12056 | 5 | Julius Thomas | $9916 | |||
| | |||||||
Tight End Quick Hits
- #1 – Jordan Reed – (WAS@PHI) TE’s are tough this week and that’s why Reed ranks so high for me. Good matchup in a high scoring game and questions about the other TE’s makes him rock solid this week.
- #2 – Antonio Gates – (SD@MIA) Gates has fallen off a bit from a torrid start. However that has caused his salary to fall a bit and that makes for a solid value option at TE.
- #3 – Jimmy Graham – (SF@NO) Would be #1 again but the injury is killing his reliability right now. Barely saw the field vs. the Cowboys
- #4 – Rob Gronkowski – (NE@CAR) Another guy who should be #2, but this is a tough matchup. He could be blocking more vs. a fierce defensive line
- #5 – Julius Thomas – (KC@DEN) Ankle injury didn’t slow him down last week. I still hate taking another receiver in an offense that has 3 solid options already, but this guy just keeps producing.
