Cowboys vs. Steelers Same Game Parlay Picks and Predictions for Today

The Dallas Cowboys travel to Pittsburgh to face the 3-1 Steelers on Sunday night. Sports betting sites anticipate a slugfest outdoors with potential rain. The terrible towels will be out as the home crowd looks to push their defense forward. Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb will look to build off of a solid Week 4 performance and to get the offense moving.

Cowboys vs. Steelers Same Game Parlay Preview

DraftKings Sportsbook posts the Steelers as 2.5-point favorites with plenty of money coming in on the Cowboys. Per ScoresAndOdds, most money and bets — more than 70% — sided with Dallas throughout the week. The Steelers have played well with Justin Fields at quarterback, often controlling games and playing great defense. I was surprised that most of this week’s action went to the Dallas side.

The over-under rests at 43.5 points. The number slid down a half-point since Saturday despite most of the action being bet on the over. Playing outdoors with some rain in the forecast, I am not surprised to see this number go down.

Brandin Cooks will not play for the Cowboys, as he has an infection in his surgically repaired knee. Trevon Diggs is questionable on the defensive side of the football. If he cannot suit up, Diggs would join DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons on the sideline. The Cowboys’ defense is struggling in 2024 and will be tasked with slowing down a Pittsburgh offense that wants to run the football. The Dallas defense ranks 25th in yards per play and only 21st in sack rate. The ferocious pass rush that complemented a great offense has not been present early in the season.

For the Steelers, the defense has completely bottled up opposing running games. Pittsburgh ranks second in yards per rushing attempt. Dallas will have no option but to pass on Sunday night. Without Brandin Cooks and a compelling rushing option, expect a lot of CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson.

Justin Fields put together his first 300-yard passing performance against the Colts in Week 4. Fields will likely need to have a big game for the Steelers to win because the Cowboys have shown gaping holes in the rush defense. Najee Harris and Fields will have their number called repeatedly on Sunday night. Lamar Jackson ran the ball 14 times for 87 yards against the Cowboys. Derrick Henry had his first big game against Dallas as well. Najee Harris will be the workhouse with Jaylen Warren and Cordarrelle Patterson out on Sunday night.

Same Game Parlay Picks for Cowboys vs. Steelers

Najee Harris Over 68.5 Rushing Yards

The Steelers’ game plan feels pretty transparent for Sunday Night Football. Put pressure on Dak Prescott. Keep CeeDee Lamb in check. Run the football repeatedly. Mike Tomlin would have watched the game film from the loss to the Ravens. Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson overwhelmed the Dallas Cowboys.

Is Najee Harris Derrick Henry? No. Is Justin Fields Lamar Jackson? Not even close. However, the opportunity will be there for both players to have a big night. We should expect plenty of carries for both players on Sunday night — especially if Pittsburgh can get an early lead.

We open with Najee’s rushing over and will follow with more rushing.

Justin Fields Over 46.5 Rushing Yards

Justin Fields is playing very well for the Steelers. Russell Wilson might be nursing a calf injury, but it seems that Fields has earned this starting spot until something drastic happens to this offense. Mike Tomlin wants to protect the football and let the defense take over games. Fields is not making mistakes and is making plays with his athleticism.

As for our rationale, look no further than Lamar’s box score against the Cowboys. I don’t need much additional convincing. We take another over.

CeeDee Lamb Over 6.5 Receptions

Finally, we want to boost our odds a bit after correlating the Steelers’ rushing attack. If our overs hit, the clock is going to run quickly in Pittsburgh. The Dallas rushing attack did not exist in the first 4 weeks of this season. Against Pittsburgh, we should not expect a resurgence.

CeeDee Lamb is the main piece in this offense. Lamb enjoyed a great first half against the Giants in Week 4 and nearly smashed all of his receiving props. I am not sure about the yardage total tonight, but I believe Dallas will try to get the ball in their play makers’ hands. In a game script where the Cowboys are losing, I think I like Lamb as the Cowboys try to come back.
