Daily Fantasy MLB: Head-to-Head vs. GPP (09/27/13)
Part 1: 50/50’s/Double-ups/Head-to-Head
When playing 50-50’s/double-ups or head-to-head, you want guaranteed points. This is not where you roll the dice on all or nothing players. The idea is to simply produce a solid, well balanced team. It may not be explosive, but it doesn’t matter whether you finish in first place or not, you just need to cash.
Pitchers

Clayton Kershaw and Cliff Lee – Let’s start with the obvious, Lee and Kershaw are both studs and both are in play.
Clay Buchholz – Clay has been terrific all season. He is home to a Baltimore team that has packed it in and has not been playing all it’s starters. Buchholz has a 1.06 ERA in his last 3 starts and a 1.99 ERA at home.
Bartolo Colon – Colon is home to the weak hitting Mariners, and he has been outstanding in September. Check out these ridiculous numbers: ERA – 0.72, WHIP – 1.12, Ks – 25, IP – 25. The win might be tough facing King Felix, but that is the only negative.
Catcher
Yadier Molina – Yaddy is home to lefty Travis Wood. He has .333 BA against lefties and is hitting .385 off Wood with two 2B and 3 HRs.
Carlos Santana – He is hitting .304 against LHP and Hernandez is allowing RHB to hit .345 off of him.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia – Salty crushes RHP at home, and he is hitting .375 off Feldman.
First Base
Mike Napoli – Napoli (expected to return tonight) is home to Scott Feldman. Napoli is hitting .327 in Sept and owns a .407 BA against Feldman with 2 HRs.
Adrian Gonzalez – A-Gon is facing RHP Colin McHugh who has been a punching bag this season. Gonzalez has a .302 BA and has hit 17 of his 21 HRs against RHP.
Second Base
Ian Kinsler – Kinsler is HOT, hitting .370 in his last 7 days. He also owns C.J. Wilson , he is 8/16 with a double, triple, homer and 3 walks.
Howie Kendrick – Looking to save money? Kendrick is hitting .304 in Sept and has a .313 BA against Ogando.
Shortstop

Stephen Drew – Drew is a much better hitter at home against RHP. Tonight he gets both of those as he faces Scott Feldman, Drew is 3/8 with a bomb off him.
Asdrubal Cabrera – Cabrera is cheap and is facing Pedro Hernandez tonight. Pedro has allowed a 1.007 OPS VS RHB.
Third Base
Miguel Cabrera – Miggy is sick and is always in play.
Adrian Beltre – Beltre is hitting .320 in his last 7 games and .331 off LHP. He has a career .344 BA against C.J. Wilson.
David Freese – If you decide to punt 3B, Freese is hitting .333 with 3 BB against Wood.
Outfield
Alex Rios – Like most of the Ranger bats, Rios is hot. He is hitting .319 against LHP and .421 VS C.J. Wilson.
Carl Crawford – Crawford gets to face RHP Colin McHugh and his 8.59 ERA. Crawford is hitting .307 against RHP and .318 in the last 7 days.
Andy Dirks – Andy is cheap and hits Righties much better than Lefties. Tonight he faces an average RHP in Tom Koehler, and is hitting .333 in his last 7 days.
Part 2: GPP’s
GPP’s are a whole new ball game. You need guys to have huge nights. GPP’s are all about upside, all-or-nothing players can become GPP gold. Value players are just as important as your star players.
Pitchers
Homer Bailey – Homer is one of those pitchers who is capable of a monster game. He is a much better pitcher at home and has owned the Pirates in his career. In Sept he has a 2.36 ERA with 23 Ks in 26.2 IP.
Corey Kluber – Kluber is facing the AAA Twins tonight. The Twins lead the AL in SOs for the month of Sept. Kluber is cheap and capable of a big K game.
Catcher

A.J. Pierzynski – A.J. is a great value play tonight, always capable of a big night, he is hitting .417 against C.J. Wilson.
Carlos Corporan – If you are looking to save money, this is your guy. Corporan hits lefties much better than righties and faces Pettitte at home tonight. Carlos is 2-2 off Pettitte with a 2B and 2 RBIs.
First Base
Adam Lind – Lind is hitting .302 in Sept and .315 against RHP. He has hit Hell-boy at a .318 clip.
Brandon Belt – Belt is hitting .341 in Sept and .296 against RHP. He should have success tonight against Burch Smith.
Second Base
Dustin Pedroia – Pedroia is a much better hitter at home with a .315 BA. He is 6/15 with a HR off Feldman.
Jose Altuve – Altuve is cheap and faces Pettitte tonight. RHB are hitting .307 VS Pettitte and Altuve is hitting .375 in the month of Sept.
David Descalso – Always a great value play when he is in the lineup. He is hitting .429 off Travis Wood.
Shortstop

SS is very weak tonight, you may want to save your money for other positions.
Starlin Castro – If you are looking to punt shortstop, look at Castro. He is capable of hitting a jack or stealing a bag at a very low price. He has a .292 BA against Lance Lynn.
Pete Kozma – He is dirt cheap and is 3/10 with two walks against Wood.
Third Base
Pablo Sandoval – Kung-Fu Panda is on fire, hitting .357 in his last 7 days. He could go off tonight against Burch Smith and his 5.87 ERA.
Matt Dominguez – Pettitte has a 4.44 ERA at home and allowing RHB to hit .307 off of him.
Outfield
Matt Holliday – Anytime Holliday faces a LHP you should get him in your lineup. Matt is hitting .385 this month and is 7/25 off Wood with two 2B and two HRs.
Will Venable – He has been cold of late., but that just means his price has come down. He is hitting .462 off of Vogelsong. Enjoy the discounted price.
Angel Pagan – Pagan is hitting .313 so far this month with four 2B, two 3B and two HRs. Oh, and he gets to tee off against Burch Smith.
Drew Stubbs – If Drew starts he is a great value play. He is mad cheap and faces LHP Pedro Hernandez. Stubbs is much better against lefties and as I said earlier, Hernandez is allowing RHB to hit .385 off of him.
Stacks Of The Night
Boston Red Sox – Anytime they are at home they are stackable. Boston is hitting .450 off Feldman this year.
Texas Rangers – Texas is on fire right now in another must-win game. Wilson has been destroyed by the Rangers this year, he has an ERA of 8.44 this season against them.
Cleveland Indians – The Indians have won 7 straight and are also in a must-win situation. They get to face Pedro Hernandez who they should use as batting practice.
SF Giants and LA Dodgers – Both teams should be solid for a mini-stack.
Good luck grinders!
