DFS Tournament Report: July 29th
It was a relatively quiet night in DFS land but there were two qualifiers to big live events and a handful of players took down some nice five-figure scores. Let’s take a quick look at how the qualifiers went down as well as show you who some of the big winners on the night were:
DraftKings $4 Million FBWC Qualifier ($1,000 entry)
SteveAvery, (#7 in RG TPOY rankings) on the strength of a Padres stack and Troy Tulowitzki (who would have himself a game in his Blue Jays debut), took the early lead through the first two hours but a dud from Tyson Ross for SteveAvery’s team opened the door for rotomania (#84 in RG TPOY rankings) and it was a lead he would never relinquish. Rotomania’s team had a small Padres stack, but it was the right three in Yangervis Solarte (22 fpts), Justin Upton (21 fpts), and Will Venable (17 fpts). Add in Tulowitzki (32 fpts) and a monster game from Bryce Harper (37 fpts) and it was easy to see why this was the winning lineup. Rotomania cruised to victory, taking down the $4M FBWC package worth a total of $55,500.

FanDuel $4 Million WFBC Qualifier ($500 Entry)
It was all about the Padres four-player stacks coupled with Tulo early as both donnybasbl (#170 in RG TPOY) and lovesbases rode those lineups to the early lead. Lateshow would try something a little different, with a White Sox stack, Tulo, and R.A. Dickey, and hold the lead for a while but in the end it would be mrtuttle05 (#97 in RG TPOY) who would emerge victorious. Mrtuttle05 used a Blue Jays stack that didn’t work out so well outside of Tulo. His spare pieces though more than made up for it though as he had Bryce Harper (15.75 fpts), Mike Napoli (9.75 fpts), and Lance McCullers (15 fpts) for a final total of 62 fpts, which was three points more than his closest competitors. Mrtuttle05 takes down the $48,444 package to the $4 Million WFBC and will be trying his luck in Vegas shortly.
