On Saturday night, the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics will battle for the second time in three days–this time at TD Garden. When these two teams met on Thursday, the Knicks emerged victorious by a final score of 108-105 on an R.J. Barrett three-pointer at the buzzer. At one point, the Celtics led on Thursday by 25 points, but they were outscored by 19 points in the second half in the losing effort. We’ve already taken a look at Knicks vs. Celtics odds, but, there are also some great opportunities for bettors to exploit the NBA player props market.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at some of our favorite props for Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant, Bobby Portis, and James Harden!
Knicks vs. Celtics NBA Player Prop Bets
Jaylen Brown Over 22.5 points (-120)
PrizePicks: O/U 22.5 points
Per EdgHouse, Jaylen Brown has eclipsed this number in nine of his last 10 games, with his lone miss coming in Thursday’s contest against the Knicks. On Thursday, Brown totaled only 16 points, but inexplicably attempted only 14 shots. It was Brown’s lowest volume of attempts since December 13. Though Brown clearly cedes some usage to Jayson Tatum when both are on the floor together, Brown is still capable of reaching this number on Saturday against a New York team that has been well below average in defensive efficiency for the majority of the campaign. Brown has scored 23 points or more in five of the last six games in which he has shared the floor with Tatum. If Brown can have a more efficient night from the field, this could be an easy cash for bettors.
Alec Burks o14.5 points (-110)
PrizePicks: O/U 14.5 points
Alec Burks has been a high-variance scorer this season for the Knicks, meaning that he scores a lot of points on some nights, but struggles mightily in other games. Burks had only three points on 1-for-10 shooting from the field in New York’s victory on Thursday, despite playing 37 minutes. Both Kemba Walker and Derrick Rose are once again ruled out for this evening. When the Knicks played on the road against Boston on December 18, Burks totaled 19 points on only nine shot attempts. If Burks can have a reasonably efficient day shooting the basketball on Saturday, he should be able to eclipse this number. Per EdgHouse, Burks has scored 18 points or more in four of his last six games on the road in which he has played at least 30 minutes. Take the over here.
R.J. Barrett Under 18.5 points (-110)
PrizePicks: O/U 18.5 points
R.J. Barrett is only averaging 15.6 points per game this season, and has only eclipsed this number 12 times in his 32 games played. The market seems to be expecting Barrett to take on an expanded role in the offense, perhaps assuming that Evan Fournier will be out tonight (currently listed as questionable). Per EdgHouse, Barrett has only hit this number six times in his last 23 trips to the hardwood. Barrett scored only 13 points in Thursday’s victory against Boston. If Fournier is in the lineup, bettors should strongly consider the under in this spot. Even if Fournier is on the sidelines, this play still has value.
Julius Randle Over 9.5 rebounds (+108)
PrizePicks: O/U 9.5 rebounds
Julius Randle has grabbed double-digit rebounds in 20 of his 37 games played this season, including 10 of 17 games played on the road. On the season, Randle is averaging 10.1 rebounds per game. The likely reason that this prop is listed at plus-money is due to the fact that Randle has failed to hit this number in either of New York’s battles with Boston this season. Some bettors might see an emerging trend from that small sample size. Others might argue that positive regression to the mean is on the horizon. Take the over here.
