The RotoGrinders MLB Grind Down article will give you an in-depth analysis into the MLB schedule. While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy baseball, there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, weather, and salaries.

The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. No sport has more variance than baseball. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time.

• road Jerome Williams is beyond useless for daily fantasy. He does not pitch deep into games. He does not get many Ks and he allows opponents a high BAA. CLE is batting .252 at home, .248 versus right-handers, and .221 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 2

Batter Grind Down

• Home Williams is allowing left-handers a .296 BAA versus him. Michael Bourne, Michael Brantley, Jason Giambi, Lonnie Chisenhall, and Jason Kipnis are your best options. Brantley has been hot with 20.25 fp over the last 7 days. RG Stack Rating 6

• Away Mike Trout is the only Angel worth a look right now. He is super hot with 39.25 fp over the last 7 days. Josh Hamilton is 8-12 with 2 HRs versus Masterson. RG Stack Rating 3

• Away Justin Verlander looked fantastic in his last start.. He is coming around lately. His numbers are starting to dip back down to his career totals. He catches a struggling NYY team that has scored the 3rd fewest runs since the AllStar break. NYY is batting .241 at home, .239 versus right-handers, and .220 over the last 7 days. • Home Ichiro Suzuki has positive BvPs versus Verlander and Robinson Cano has been the most productive Yankee. There are not many positive things to say about NYY right now.

• Away You do not need a reason to take Miguel Cabrera but today you have 2. He crushes left-handers and is 4-12 with 2 HRs versus Pettitte. I love the right-handed bats today for DET. RG Stack Rating 8 RG Stack Rating 2

• Home R.A. Dickey has been getting crushed at home. There is no reason to believe that trend stops today versus an OAK team that is much better on the road and is hot. OAK is batting .250 on the road, .248 versus right-handers, and .275 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 4

• Away A.J. Griffin numbers all take a significant dip on the road. The most telling stat is his 17 HR in 11 games away from OAK. TOR is a park that lends itself to power so this is not the kind of trend you want to see from your SP. TOR is batting .262 at home, .255 versus right-handers, and .263 over the last 7 days. • Home Whenever a pitcher is struggling with the longball then everyone is playable. Bautista, Reyes and Lawrie are your best bets because they are hot. RG Stack Rating 5

• Away Jed Lowrie has been hot with 17.3 fp over the last 7 days and is 4-8 versus Dickey. Josh Reddick has 5 HRS in the last 2 days as well. I think everyone is playable given Dickey’s struggles at home. RG Stack Rating 7

• Home Mike Leake ‘s bottom line on the year is outstanding but his peripheral numbers are on par with his career averages. Last time out, he got shelled by STL and I do not expect that to happen again today but it is highly unlikely that he finishes the season with an ERA below 3 also. Bottom line, he is overpriced based upon his success and he is not as good of a pitcher as his numbers indicate. SDG is batting .251 on the road, .240 versus right-handers, and .199 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 6

• Away Ian Kennedy move to SDG might be just what he needs. He is a flyball pitcher and Petco offers a little more breathing space then most fields. However, this start is taking place in CIN and it is probably best to avoid Kennedy until he gets things under control. CIN is batting .253 at home, .250 versus right-handers, and .239 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 4

• Home Kennedy has allowed 18 of 22 HRs to left-handers. Cue Jay Bruce, Joey Votto, and Shin-Soo Choo. RG Stack Rating 5

• Away Will Venable has been hot with 29.5 fp over the last week. Yonder Alonso is batting .299 versus right-handed pitching. RG Stack Rating 2

• Home Mike Minor takes the field today as a ridiculous favorite. It is well deserved because he has pitched fantastic on the year sand MIA has been pathetic all season. There is no need to get cute here. You should just roster Minor, especially on a multiple pitcher site. MIA is batting .228 on the road, .226 versus left-handers, and .196 over the last 7 days. • Away Henderson Alvarez is doing a fine job in the rotation but he runs into a very hot ATL team. His K/9 is way too low so he is unplayable in my books but he has yet to give up an HR in 45 IP spanning over 7 starts. I am not sure I jump on board ATL either. ATL is batting .265 at home, .255 versus right-handers, and .227 over the last 7 days. RG Start-Ability 4

Batter Grind Down

• Home Henderson is allowing left-handers a .286 BAA. Freddie Freeman, Jason Heyward, and Brian McCann are your best bets. B.J. Upton has been hot and offers great value. RG Stack Rating 3

• Away Giancario Stanton has 2 HR in 12 AB if you are playing the fade. RG Stack Rating 1
