What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.0
- Favored Team – CLE -156
Pitcher Grind Down
CLE – Justin Masterson has been spectacular at home this season. Don’t believe me? How about I tell you that he has a 2.22 ERA, a 1.060 WHIP, and a K rate of 9.5 strikeouts per 9 innings. See what I mean? I like him tonight against the Royals, but temper your expectations for strikeouts, the Royals just don’t strikeout very often. Target
KC – I usually don’t like to take underdog pitchers and I usually don’t like to take Luis Mendoza. Put those two together and I really don’t like it. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
CLE – I think Jason Kipnis is one of the best options at 2B tonight. He has really been playing well lately and I could see him taking Mendoza deep. I also like leadoff man Michael Bourn as well as the catcher Carlos Santana.
KC – The Royals have a really tough matchup against Masterson. He is just too good at home. While Gordon has great BvP against him, I am not buying into it.

COL vs L | COL BvP | TOR vs R | TOR BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9.0
- Favored Team – TOR -155
Pitcher Grind Down
TOR – Mark Buehrle has had quality starts in 4 of his last 5 outings and is looking like the pitcher that the Jays thought they were getting. The Rockies have really struggled to score runs so far in this series and the fact that they are short handed only helps the value of Buehrle. I think he pitches well and is a good cheap option. In Play
COL – Not a lot to love about Juan Nicasio. His ERA is around 5, he never makes it past 6 innings, and he has had trouble getting K’s on the road. Tough matchup too. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
TOR – The obvious plays here are going to be Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion, but I think there is better value in the other parts of the lineup. Colby Rasmus has been on fire and is still relatively cheap across the board, J.P. Arencibia is on a HR kick and is cheap, and Melky Cabrera could have a multi-hit, multi-run game.
COL – Carlos Gonzalez and Michael Cuddyer may be worth a shot in GPP’s, but the Rockies are slumping and both are priced too high for me.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.0
- Favored Team – CIN -132
Pitcher Grind Down
CIN – I may be a bit crazy, but I actually really like the matchup for Bronson Arroyo tonight. The Pirates are a team that is very inconsistent on offense and only a couple of Pirates bats have hit Arroyo well in the past. I think Arroyo can throw 7 innings, 5 K’s, and pick up a win. In Play
PIT – Jeff Locke is a solid lefty that you would think would have success against this Reds team, but you could have said the same thing about Liriano the other night and look what happened to him. I think he is a bit overpriced and will struggle to find run support. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
CIN – Todd Frazier and Zack Cozart both hit lefties very well. Frazier has already hit 4 HR’s off of lefties this season and Cozart has hit 4 as well. Both of them are in play if the price is right.
PIT – Pedro Alvarez has had Arroyo’s number in the past, but he strikes out so often that I wouldn’t trust him in H2H’s or 50/50’s. I think this is a low scoring game so you are probably better off targeting batters from another game.

NYM vs R | NYM BvP | ATL vs R | ATL BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.0
- Favored Team – ATL -177
Pitcher Grind Down
ATL – Kris Medlen was finally turning things around until he got lit up by the Giants. That doesn’t scare me away from taking him today against the Mets though. The fact is that the Mets struggle to score runs and I think Medlen shows up big tonight. He has been good at home in his career and I expect that to continue. Target
NYM – Shaun Marcum hasn’t been great this season, everytime I think he is turning it around he gives up 6 runs and he’s just not a guy that I trust at this point. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
ATL – I am still riding the B.J. Upton bandwagon and even though I may be the only one on it, I will have some company soon. Upton is really making good contact and he is batting 5th or 6th in the lineup these days. And he is dirt dirt cheap. I’m telling you, he is a great value play today. I also like Freddie Freeman.
NYM – Medlen has owned the Mets in the past and I think we can expect that to continue tonight.

TBR vs R | TBR BvP | BOS vs R | BOS BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9.5
- Favored Team – BOS -128
Pitcher Grind Down
BOS – Ryan Dempster gives up a lot of runs but picks up a lot of strikeouts along the way which usually means that he is a viable fantasy option almost every night that he pitches. I wouldn’t pay a ton for Dempster tonight because it’s a tough matchup, but if you can get him for cheap, the upside is there. In Play
TB – Jeremy Hellickson has really struggled on the road this season. Scratch that, he has really struggled on the road and at home. His ERA is creeping up toward 6 and a matchup against the Red Sox in Fenway is not going to help. Avoid
Batter Grind Down
BOS – David Ortiz and Jarrod Saltalamachhia each have 2 HR’s against Hellickson already and Gomes and Pedroia each have one. I think we could see the Red Sox put up a big number tonight so stack away boys.
TB – There is strikeout potential here, but there is also potential for the Rays to put up a decent amount of runs. I like Kelly Johnson as an under the radar play.
