MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, August 30

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

CheeseIsGood: Anthony Santander
SquirrelPatrol: Francisco Lindor
boggslite: Anthony Santander
ebeimfohr: Francisco Lindor
Alex Sonty: Anthony Santander

Who is your favorite hitter (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

CheeseIsGood: Jose Ramirez – There are so many possible options to put in this spot. We should see pOWN% congregating around the Orioles and Mets, leaving all kinds of elite upside bats somewhat off the radar. This could include any of Ramirez, Shohei Ohtani, Brent Rooker, Yordan Alvarez, and maybe even Juan Soto and Aaron Judge. When I look at this slate, the position that lacks the most upside options is third base. Bailey Falter, with his low 16.8% K to righties and hard-hit fly balls, is going to have a tough time navigating this high-contact Cleveland lineup. Ramirez has an elite .340 ISO and .450 wOBA against lefties, and he maintains the platoon advantage with his switch-hitting when the Pirates go to the bullpen.

SquirrelPatrol: Cal Raleigh – Raleigh should see increased pricing whenever he is hitting away from his home ballpark in Seattle, but he doesn’t, giving us a top value option whenever Seattle is on the road. Raleigh has the 3rd-highest ISO in the league in road games this season, behind only Aaron Judge and Yordan Alvarez. Tonight, Raleigh and the Mariners are facing Angels rookie Sam Aldegheri, who has never pitched above AA before. I’ll look to get over the field.

boggslite: Jose Ramirez – Ramirez is my top option to target if you’re looking outside of the obvious great plays in Coors Field. Often overlooked due to the team he plays for, Ramirez remains an elite hitter and has a great matchup against a weak lefty in Bailey Falter, who has marginal strikeout upside. With great hitting weather expected in Cleveland, Ramirez makes for a quality spend in all formats in a game with plenty of run potential.

ebeimfohr: Shohei Ohtani – If Ohtani is ever not super chalky, he’s probably going to top my list. He’s extremely expensive, but if we can fit him, we definitely should. As incredible as Aaron Judge is, Ohtani brings the speed element that sets him over the top upside-wise. The matchup with Gallen should likely keep his ownership in check enough to keep us happy.

Alex Sonty: Gunnar Henderson – Henderson has a near-10% barrel rate against LHP and Austin Gomber has a sucky .232 ISO allowed on a 9.6% barrel rate to lefties. Henderson is one of the better left-on-left power bats in the game. Give him Gomber in Coors Field at ~10% pOWN%, and I want a lot of him.
