What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I think ownership is going to get spread out widely enough that you should be able to play just about anything you want without much concern. On those kinds of slates, I prefer small-field tournaments like single entry. I will consider fading Spencer Strider, who is certain to be the most popular player on the slate by a wide margin. He is my top pitcher if salary doesn’t matter, but I’m going to build some lineups with a bunch of spend-up individual bats and mini stacks while playing cheaper pitchers like Eduardo Rodriguez, Quinn Priester, Sandy Alcantara, and even Adrian Houser.

stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on large-field contests. With this slate, I want to spread out my ownership on pitching and hitting. I think we have 5-8 strong offenses, and outside of Spencer Strider, there are a lot of question marks at pitching. I’m going to build around the stacks I like and not worry about ownership. The SF/ATH and CWS/COL games are my two favorite games to target outside of the Dodgers.

boggslite: Large-field tournaments – It’s a tough slate for pitching, as only Spencer Strider stands out as an option worth paying up for despite not yet being 100% back to form. I will likely be over the field on Strider and mix-and-match my SP2 based on how much salary I have left over after building around my hitters. It will be hard to fade the White Sox in Coors Field, but I will likely either full-stack or fade them rather than use pieces of this lineup, despite the great matchup.

Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests, and I don’t make a lot of lineups. I will likely have some Coors, but I just like too many offenses (Athletics, Giants, Blue Jays, Dodgers) with good actual hitters of the baseball that I suspect I’ll be under the field on both the White Sox and Rockies. I don’t feel good about it, as I do not really love Spencer Strider’s current form, but I’ll likely be with the field on him, as the pivots are as off-putting as the White Sox being somewhat popular.
