What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: I love everything about this slate for all contest sizes. I am going to play everything, but if I had to choose, I would focus on smaller-field and single-entry contests, where we’re going to see the goofier ownership for Robbie Ray. I get it—he’s facing the Rockies—but when we can play more talented pitchers at a fraction of the ownership, I’m always going to go that way. I don’t think we see any offense that reaches a relevant amount of ownership, so I will spread out pretty evenly among my top 5–8 stacks, but I also won’t go past about a dozen stacks, even in deeper MME.
stevietpfl: This is a fantastic slate with many ways to build. I prefer single-entry contests and 5-entry-max contests. I’m going to be overweight on Tarik Skubal. I think he’s clearly the best pitching option that we have. I’ll also be playing Robbie Ray, Framber Valdez, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Max Fried, and Gunnar Hoglund (DK). With so many offenses in plus matchups, I’m going to focus on 5-man stacks for DK and 4-man stacks for FD. I had no issues narrowing down my stacks. I like the Cubs, Giants, Astros, Athletics, Royals, and Yankees.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – With plenty of pitching options at various price points, I don’t quite expect ownership to be as concentrated as expected at first glance. I do expect Tarik Skubal and Robbie Ray to be the highest-owned pitchers, but they are tough fades in their current matchups, so I will likely be overweight on them, especially in combination with some stacks who are projecting for lower ownership.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. There is enough good stuff that I don’t feel the need to get especially goofy when it comes to being different. My lineups will likely be some combination of Dodgers, Orioles, Yankees, and Cubs, with the Athletics being my biggest stand. If I feel like my lineup is somehow looking too chalky, I’ll just move off of Robbie Ray, who I’m lukewarm on as is. I’m playing Tarik Skubal in every lineup I can afford him.
