What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stlcardinals84: It’s my birthday, and I am traveling today, so I am just going to be building one lineup in the large-field GPP contests. I really like Joe Ryan as a pivot away from the other aces in good matchups, as I expect Spencer Strider (vs. COL) and Jacob deGrom (vs. CWS) to be popular. I will be focusing my offensive exposure on the Philadelphia left-handed bats, while I like the Orioles as an affordable stack with the cheaper pieces in the bottom part of their order along with a moderately priced Jordan Westburg now that he is back. The Braves are my top overall stack, but they are a little too expensive to get into the single-entry lineup that I like the most.

Krayton: I will be playing single-entry contests along with 20-entry max contests on both sites. There are a handful of pitchers I really like, starting with Jacob deGrom, Spencer Strider, Joe Ryan, Hunter Brown, and Tylor Megill. I don’t mind Michael Lorenzen on DK as a value play for just $6,700. For the bats, the Braves, Phillies, Orioles, and Rangers are my favorites, and I will be taking an underweight stance on the popular Royals. I also like getting exposure to the Mets at very little projected ownership.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field contests while spreading out my stacks and keeping a tight pitching pool. I’ll have Spencer Strider in my pool, but I’ll be underweight. I will be overweight on Joe Ryan, Jacob deGrom, and Tylor Megill.

tcsmith031: I’ll fire up some 20-max and single-entry contests. I’ll be uncomfortably under the field on Hunter Brown, primarily because cheaper options like Spencer Strider, Joe Ryan, and Jacob deGrom project similarly, and the salary savings come in handy. I’m also not too excited to load up on chalky Royals hitters, so I’ll likely only mix them in as mini 2- and-3-man stacks.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Epignosis
Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
