MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, May 23

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

stlcardinals84: Matt Olson
Krayton: Ronald Acuna
TJ Zwarych: Bobby Witt

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 25 entries in the large-field tournaments. I plan to operate with a narrow pitching pool, and I’ll play some of the chalkier options on a day that doesn’t offer much for pitching. I prefer to differentiate my lineups with my bats, with the White Sox and Giants being teams that I plan to be significantly overweight on compared to the field. Another key is to watch out for the weather. I can’t see how they play baseball in Philadephia or Baltimore today, and I am assuming those games get PPD early.

Krayton: I will be playing single-entry and 20-max contests on both sites today One of my bigger stances is being overweight on the White Sox. I will be overweight on Munetaka Murakami, Colson Montgomery, and Miguel Vargas, as they have elite ISO numbers against RHP. Adrian Houser has given up on average a .327 ISO this season when facing LHBs, while he is also averaging an awful .469 wOBA against LHBs.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field tournaments, and I plan to take an underweight approach on Zack Wheeler. I’ll be overweight on Taj Bradley while taking some shots on lower-owned options like George Kirby and Brayan Bello. The Mariners, the Braves, and the White Sox are my top stacks, and since Seattle and Atlanta should be quite chalky, I’ll try and match those stacks with my sneakier pitchers.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Epignosis
Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
