Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: This slate is so wide open that I prefer larger-field tournaments where I can get to at least 7-8 different offenses in my primary pool. I just don’t see a best way to narrow things down to a single-entry kind of lineup here, and I’ll be looking to spread things out pretty far on the offensive side. Because of that, I am going to narrow my pitcher pool a bit more and not worry at all about the ownership on Gavin Williams. On DK, I’ll mostly pair Williams with a cheaper SP2 (e.g. Matthew Liberatore, Aaron Nola, Brady Singer), only going up to a better SP2 in a few lineups. On FD, where the salary gap is not as big to the cheap pitchers, I’ll play mostly Jacob deGrom and Paul Skenes where I can’t afford Williams.

headChopper: On DK, I am running one lineup in small-field tournaments, and on FD, I prefer large-field tournaments where I can multi-enter. For me, large slates like this are for stacking as much as I can. It has everything to do with probabilities. The probability that one pitcher or one team will have a bad pitching performance and get lit up for a tournament-winning score naturally goes up when there are more teams to choose from. There are some really good pitchers at the top tonight, and I will certainly be looking in that range for my FD pitcher and for my SP1 on DK. After that, I will dip down and save some money at SP2 on DK and look for a good matchup when the MLB lineups start coming out.

stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on small-field tournaments. We have a great slate, with plenty of pitching and hitting options. I’m going to narrow down my pitching pool to Gavin Williams, Kyle Harrison, Jacob deGrom, Taj Bradley, and Walbert Urena. This will make my pitching options a little different from Aaron Nola and Tyler Glasnow, who are getting some early-morning love with pOWN%. For hitting, as much as I like the Dodgers, I’m going to fade them in my 3-5 lineups. I’m going to be overweight on the Twins, Yankees, Royals, and Cardinals. With most of my focus around the Twins and Yankees, I do think it’s a slate I want to fully stack as much as possible.

Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. Gavin Williams’ combination of matchup and skill set is simply too good for me to fade him. Jacob deGrom is my favorite non-Williams pitcher on the FD slate, while Matthew Liberatore will likely be my top DK target beyond Williams when accounting for salary. As for offense, I expect to be underweight on Minnesota, with the Yankees being the team I’m most likely to stack in my main lineup.
