What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: I like all formats tonight, but since my favorite bats are not overwhelming chalk, I’ll start with single-entry formats. It might be that we don’t end up with any hitting chalk at all, and if we do, it’s probably the Marlins. I’m going with the Yankees and Brewers ahead of Coors Field, and I am also prioritizing some off-the-board spend-ups with teams like the Diamondbacks and Blue Jays. Because I’m not concerned about hitting ownership, I’ll be fine with the Freddy Peralta chalk and then look to spread out at SP2 on DK with a mix of Merrill Kelly, Andrew Abbott, Cam Schlittler, Eduardo Rodriguez, and maybe some Eury Perez or Michael McGreevy.
headChopper: I’m playing 20 lineups in large-field GPPs. I’ll go underweight on Freddy Peralta and overweight on pitchers with similar upside, like Eury Perez, Merrill Kelly, Shohei Ohtani, and Logan Gilbert. Early projected ownership is heavy on the Marlins and Yankees, but I’ll stay underweight on those stacks. Instead, I’ll build 4-man or 5-man stacks and use the remaining spots for 2-man stacks or one-offs, while still getting exposure to my favorite Yankees and Marlins.
stevietpfl: I will focus on 1–3 lineups to play in single-entry contests. It’s the time of the season when I start to pay attention to who is playing for something. I think there is an edge to pitching with teams that have something to play for. If a pitcher is pitching well, they might get an extra inning. It’s easy for me to narrow down my pitching pool tonight. At the top, I want Logan Gilbert and Freddy Peralta as much as possible. I’ll take some shots on Eduardo Rodriguez and Andrew Abbott in the mid-range.
Dean78904: I focus mostly on single-entry and smaller-field type contests. I don’t make a lot of lineups, but I expect the Yankees to be in every one of them, as they are by far my favorite team on the board. I don’t know how popular the Coors game is going to be, but I expect to be well under the field on the offenses. I expect to play Freddy Peralta in most of my lineups. On FD, Shohei Ohtani is likely the only other SP I’ll use. As for DK, I’ll likely need to dip down to Eduardo Rodriguez or Eury Perez as SP2s, as I’m likely to need the salary savings.
