MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, April 24

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

squirrelpatrol: Fernando Tatis
stevietpfl: Fernando Tatis
TheLuuch: Juan Soto (FD) / Fernando Tatis (DK)
Alex Sonty: Fernando Tatis

Who is your favorite sneaky stack on the board and why?

squirrelpatrol: Rockies – It’s difficult to look at the season-long numbers for the Rockies and click on their names for your lineup, but this is still Coors Field. Matt Waldron hasn’t done anything to make us shy away, allowing 22 hits and 7 walks in 19 innings this season (4 starts). Ryan McMahon has a .357 wOBA against RHP since the start of last season, and the power that Elehuris Montero showed in Triple-A last season, hitting 15 HRs in 142 ABs, could show itself in the majors.

stevietpfl: Royals – I don’t think I will full-stack the Royals, but they’re one of my favorite low-owned secondary stacks. The Blue Jays bullpen has a 5.08 ERA, which is the 5th highest, and they’ve allowed 16 home runs, which is the 2nd most. Yariel Rodriguez has a 40.6% strikeout rate, which is elite, but I don’t think it’s sustainable. He only has a 12.6% swinging-strike rate and a 31.1% whiff rate. His slider has been fantastic, but even some of the advanced metrics on that suggest some regression. The Royals likely won’t have any ownership and continue to be a team with home-run and stolen-base upside.

TheLuuch: Astros – Between the Padres, Yankees, and Braves, I’m not sure where Houston will ultimately rank in terms of pOWN%. There also should be subpar hitting weather at Wrigley tonight (which will deter some folks), but I’m not sure how much of a true factor that will be. Houston owns the league’s lowest strikeout rate vs. RHP, so I’m certain that the ball will be in play against Jameson Taillon, who does not miss many bats at this point of his career. He threw just 73 pitches during his first start of the season, so there’s a decent shot of Houston getting into the Chicago bullpen early.

Alex Sonty: A’s – I don’t care how bad they are. The A’s have lot of thump when they connect with baseballs. I know, big “when,” but they have six double-digit barrel rates against RHP since the start of the 2023 season: Brent Rooker (16%), Shea Langeliers (14.9%), Seth Brown (12.5%), Zack Gelof (12.2%), Lawrence Butler (11.7%), and Ryan Noda (11.1%). Schmidt is likely gonna be over 40% owned on DK and ~25% on FD, despite a 50.4% hard-hit rate over that span, because his strikeout stuff’s been great this season and the A’s strike out a lot. I plan to attack this ownership with the A’s bats, getting a huge ballpark bump.
