MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, June 26
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
squirrelpatrol: Shohei Ohtani
stevietpfl: Shohei Ohtani
TheLuuch: Shohei Ohtani
Alex Sonty: Rafael Devers
How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
squirrelpatrol: It’s a wide-open slate where all of the pitchers have some question marks and I can think of a reason to play any offense. I’ll spread out my exposure at pitcher, and I’ll prioritize paying up for the power hitters. I won’t mind pairing my top stacks with some cheaper options projecting for lower ownership, however, as I think any offense could rise to the top on this slate.
stevietpfl: This is a great tournament slate. Luis Gil, Hayden Birdsong, Simeon Woods Richardson, and Kutter Crawford all have upside, but there isn’t anything safe about playing any of them. I’ll build around these five pitchers. As far as the bats, the Red Sox, Dodgers, Twins, and Yankees appear to be the four top stacks. To get a little different, I’m going to be overweight on the Red Sox and Twins and underweight on the Dodgers and Yankees.
TheLuuch: I really like Hayden Birdsong and Sean Manaea for tournaments. Birdsong is an unknown, and he’s in a good pitchers park against a struggling Cubs team. Manaea has been much better against righties this season, and the bottom of the Yankees’ lineup has been atrocious lately. Both pitchers are $7,700 or cheaper on DraftKings and have pOWN% less than 20%. Going overweight on both of these cheap options allows me to build stacks with pretty much any of the stud hitters that I want.
Alex Sonty: I’m willing to toss Erick Fedde out there against the Dodgers in my chalky Red Sox lineup. I’ll definitely stack some Mets in another 1 of 3 lineups against the high walk rate of Luis Gil. And I’ll have some Hayden Birdsong, despite a low projected pitch count, because he’s in San Francisco and the Cubs are coming back to Earth really hard. I also think that the Twins should be the best stack on the slate before considering ownership. Seeing them with the 4th-highest pOWN% delights me. It’s a smaller slate without a wealth of aces or gas cans. I’m not playing a projections game on a slate where so much of the pool is jumbled up in one tier. I’m purely playing for leverage.
