MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Saturday, April 20

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

STLCardinals84: I’m going to be way overweight on the Houston bats today. The team has under-performed in the early going, but a matchup against the Nationals is a nice cure for what ails a team. I like quite a few cheap pitchers on this slate, which will allow me to fit the expensive Houston bats. Trevor Williams is a very attackable pitcher, and I think this is a prime breakout spot for Yordan Alvarez and company.

Krayton: I will be focused on a fairly tight pitching core today, with Bailey Ober, Kutter Crawford, and Nestor Cortes as my top three. I do like Zac Gallen and will have exposure to him, but I like paying down at pitching and getting in the top bats today. Even though the Dodgers have not been playing well lately, I am going to be very overweight on them today, starting with Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman at the top. They have the potential to break a slate, and I love pairing them with some of the cheaper pitching options, including Bailey Ober and even Nestor Cortes today.

tcsmith031: While I’m a bit nervous to be under the field on Zac Gallen, I like the idea of saving salary on the pitching side of things today. You can argue that all of Bailey Ober, Mitch Keller, Kutter Crawford, Nestor Cortes, Jesus Luzardo, and Reese Olson are cheaper than they should be on this slate. I’ll also be punting in a few lineups with an uncomfortable amount of Miles Mikolas and hoping for the best.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll have a very tight pitching pool focused on Zac Gallen, Bailey Ober, and Kutter Crawford. There’s a few others like Mikolas, Olson, Eflin, and Luzardo I’ll take shots on in MME, but my entire 150-max pool will only be seven pitchers.

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
