MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, April 11
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
squirrelpatrol: Ronald Acuna
headChopper: Ronald Acuna
Dean78904: Ronald Acuna
eys819: Ronald Acuna
Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
squirrelpatrol: Jon Gray – This slate was already small, and it’s getting smaller by the moment with the MIN/DET game getting rained out. Freddy Peralta has perceived upside, but Cincinnati isn’t a great park for pitchers, and that game has its own rain concerns. So I’ll side with Gray facing an Oakland team that ranks 25th in wOBA this season and has the 4th-highest K%.
headChopper: Freddy Peralta – With MIN/DET getting postponed, Peralta takes the top spot for me. He has the most arm talent on this small slate, and although the matchup isn’t great, the Reds offense hasn’t lived up to the preseason hype just yet. Salary isn’t much of an issue, as no pitchers on this slate are priced very high.
Dean78904: Jon Gray – I was excited to write up Tarik Skubal, but Kevin Roth won’t let us have nice things. So now I’m stuck with either endorsing the clear best pitcher still standing (Freddy Peralta), who may or may not throw baseballs in the rain, or Jon Gray, whose season has started off uglier than Grandma’s unironic Christmas sweater. Gray has a pretty long history of being an unspectacular but at least competent starting pitcher, so I’m willing to somewhat forgive him for scuffling against two tough early opponents (Astros, Cubs). Today, he draws the A’s. On paper, this Oakland lineup is Ozempic for struggling pitchers. Gray is cheap, and the opportunity cost at starting pitcher is low. So we don’t need anything too fancy, as I suspect bats are winning this slate.
