Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS picks

Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the April 7, 2026 MLB DFS slate.

Happy Tuesday! We have a massive 12-game slate on DK that starts a little earlier than usual (6:40 PM ET). Meanwhile, FD is starting at the typical 7:05 PM ET, which leaves them with a much more manageable 7-game slate. I will be talking about all 12 games, and I’m not going to note every single time I mention someone who is DK-only, but I will add FD specific notes as we go along and to each of the Cliff Notes sections.

On the baseball front, this slate is also a huge mess of goodness. We have a silly amount of aces, and a better matchup for the Astros in Coors Field headlines the slate.

Tuesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings

Skubal of the Tigers

This slate is absolutely loaded with great pitchers, and it’s going to be way too much to dig deep into every one of them. I’m going to list everyone that I think is viable in these two tiers, but then I will quickly gloss over a bunch of them and see if we can’t get this down to a manageable level. The pricing is spread out pretty far and wide, but I’m going to use $7,700 on DK as the cut-off for the top tier.

TOP TIER PITCHING

Really, this is just too much. We have 13 pitchers here would be the SP1 on a lot of slates. That’s absurd. I’m going to rattle off a bunch of names that are missing my cut, but any and all of them are viable if you want to spread out.

Kevin Gausman has looked amazing in 2 favorable matchups to start this season. It could be real, and he’s great, but I’m not playing a pitcher against the Dodgers at his salary on this slate. Paul Skenes is elite, but he has not looked sharp yet this season, probably still doesn’t yet have a full leash, and is facing the low-strikeout Padres. I’ll pass. George Kirby is not quite the same level of pitcher on the road, so he gets the X from me as well. I am pretty sure that Nathan Eovaldi has simply been unlucky in his first 2 starts and that he’ll be fine starting tonight, but he’s still going to miss my cut, at least on DK. We’ll see if he sneaks back into the FD pool when we get there.

OK, that still doesn’t even help all that much, but let’s start putting these aces into smaller buckets and see what we find.
