Happy Tuesday! We’ve got a difficult-looking 11-game slate on tap for tonight. There is a large group of top-tier pitchers who are all tightly bunched in skill set and salary. I’ll break it down into my favorite group for a primary pool, but this is one of those slates where you can go in a lot of different directions.
On the hitting side, things are highlighted by the Mets heading into Coors Field, which is likely to give us some pretty heavy chalk to deal with. Other than the Mets, things are quite spread out and tough to get a clear read on. On top of that, we have some very dicey weather for the Yankees, which may well take them off the table, weakening the top tier considerably.
Be sure to check out our MLB Weather page from Kevin Roth for more in-depth analysis of how the weather could pan out.

Tuesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings
We’ve got ourselves a bunch of good pitchers in varying degrees of matchups:
TOP TIER PITCHING
Sonny Gray vs. Rays – 30.8% K, 5.9% BB, 3.72 ERA, 2.94 SIERA
Luis Gil vs. Angels – 28.5% K, 11.4% BB, 3.20 ERA, 3.91 SIERA
Shota Imanaga vs. Twins – 24.8% K, 3.6% BB, 3.09 ERA, 3.54 SIERA
Grayson Rodriguez at Blue Jays – 26.5% K, 7.3% BB, 3.86 ERA, 3.60 SIERA
Luis Castillo vs. Tigers – 23.3% K, 6.8% BB, 3.43 ERA, 3.91 SIERA
Pablo Lopez at Cubs – 27.8% K, 5.5% BB, 4.65 ERA, 3.26 SIERA
Framber Valdez at Rangers – 22.6% K, 8% BB, 3.56 ERA, 3.56 SIERA
Seth Lugo vs. Red Sox – 21.3% K, 5.5% BB, 2.57 ERA, 3.96 SIERA
Clayton Kershaw vs. Phillies – 3rd start of season
This is going to be a tough tangle to sort through, and there are definitely going to be a lot of different places you could reasonably land. I am going to pretty quickly cross off a bunch of good pitchers here and just get this down to my personal favorite few options for a primary pool. But this is one of those slates where you could come to a very different conclusion, and I would not yell at you.
I’m not playing Clayton Kershaw or Seth Lugo on this slate. Kershaw is not fully stretched out and hasn’t looked right yet. Lugo has been very good, mostly in easier matchups, but I do not want to spend up for a lower strikeout pitcher against Boston on this slate.
Grayson Rodriguez, Shota Imanaga, and Framber Valdez are my next cuts. These guys are all very good, and all will remain in my MME pool. It simply comes down to matchups and a desire to narrow my pool as much as possible. I don’t even have anything bad to negative to say about these guys. It’s simply that I prefer…
