Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS picks

Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the April 8, 2026 MLB DFS slate.

Happy Wednesday! We have an early start today, with DK running a 10-game slate that begins at 1:10 PM ET. FD has split their day up into three smaller slates, so I’m going to focus on the DK slate in this article. We will have expert tags and analysis available in our MLB DFS optimizer, LineupHQ, for FD’s main slate (which is a 4-gamer beginning at 6:40 PM ET), as well as the accompanying 4-game night slate on DK.

The big 10-game DK slate is quite muddled on both sides, with only the Coors Field game standing out as obvious chalk. I’ll give you some favorites, but on both the pitching and hitting sides, we have very tangled tiers where you could make an argument to go a lot of different directions.

Wednesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings

Ragans of the Royals

I’m going to use $8,000 as the cut-off between tiers. There are some very good pitchers in some tougher matchups making for some difficult decisions.

TOP TIER PITCHING

This is a tricky top tier to dig through. We have some tougher matchups for the best pitchers on the board, and we also have some pitchers whose 2025 sample size was too small to know how real it is. I am talking specifically there about Cole Ragans, Shohei Ohtani, and Kyle Bradish. Those three jump off the page with their 2025 strikeout rates, but they came in with just 61 IP for Ragans, 47 IP for Ohtani, and 32 IP for Bradish. Looking at longer-term numbers for those three, Ragans is likely an ace in the 30% strikeout range, Ohtani is also likely at 30% (but the control is the unknown there), while Bradish is more likely something in the 25%. In addition to that, we’ve got Dylan Cease facing the Dodgers, and Bryan Woo, while not quite as dramatic in splits as his teammates, also takes a step back when he’s on the road. So, what do we do with all this information? Let’s find out…
