MLB DFS Picks: Top Stacks for Monday, March 31st
Opto% Stack
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Grant Holmes
The Los Angeles Dodgers emerge as a great MLB DFS stack option today, boasting the highest optimal stack rate and stack rating in our projections. With an implied run total of 4.83, they stand out as the slate’s offensive powerhouse. However, the matchup against Grant Holmes presents an intriguing challenge.
Holmes, while not extensively tested, demonstrated solid skills last season with a 24.8% strikeout rate and minimal walks. His effectiveness against righties and ability to induce ground balls could pose some resistance. Yet, the Dodgers’ lethal left-handed trio of Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Max Muncy are poised to exploit Holmes’ tendency to throw strikes to lefties.
While these top bats are slate-leading plays, the Dodgers’ stack requires strategic creativity due to salary constraints. Incorporating value options like Michael Conforto and Andy Pages alongside the star power can unlock the stack’s full potential. Alternatively, a condensed stack of 2-3 elite bats, particularly Ohtani and Muncy, offers a balanced approach to leverage the Dodgers’ offensive upside without compromising other roster spots.

Value% Stack
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Mike Soroka
With the 2nd-best optimal stack rate, stack rating, and Value% in projections, coupled with an implied run total of 4.49 runs, the Blue Jays are poised for a potentially explosive offensive performance.
Soroka’s recent struggles significantly enhance the Blue Jays’ appeal. Once known for his ground-ball tendencies and excellent control, Soroka has shown vulnerability since his return from injury in 2023. His 79-inning sample last season revealed a concerning loss of both control and ground-ball efficiency, making him a prime target for the Blue Jays’ potent lineup.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Anthony Santander emerge as top options, rivaling even the elite Dodgers bats in terms of DFS potential. Soroka’s particular difficulty against left-handed hitters, evidenced by a staggering 15.2% walk rate, adds another layer of strategic depth to Blue Jays stacks.
For optimal stack construction, incorporating left-handed bats alongside the formidable right-handed trio of Guerrero, George Springer, and Bo Bichette is advisable. This balanced approach leverages Soroka’s struggles against lefties while capitalizing on the overall offensive prowess of the Blue Jays’ lineup.
