Pitcher Grind Down
- Charlie Morton – Morton is a ground ball pitcher that is having a career year. While the high ground ball rate helps his cause in Coors, this is still Coors Field that we are talking about. My cardinal rule is to avoid all pitchers in Coors. Pitchers get blown up in Coors much more often than they throw gems. Rating = 4
Salaries: $7300 FD, $14550 DD, $6800 DK, $91700 FF, $21800 SS, $14900 FTD
- Brett Anderson – Anderson allowed 6 runs in his first start off of the DL. He may have some trouble again tonight as he faces the red hot Pirates in Coors Field. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Rating = 2
Salaries: $5300 FD, $10650 DD, $5800 DK, $47200 FF, $13800 SS, $6200 FTD

Pittsburgh
Andrew McCutchen – Cutch may be my favorite play on the board tonight. He has .403 wOBA against southpaws this season and is playing in Coors against a mediocre lefty. Get him in your lineups and thank me later.
Additional Plays: Josh Harrison, Neil Walker, Russell Martin
Colorado
Corey Dickerson – Dickerson continues to crush RH pitching. He has a .455 wOBA vs. RH pitching and a nice matchup against Morton who has historically struggled vs. LH hitters.
Additional Plays: Carlos Gonzalez, Charlie Blackmon

Pitcher Grind Down
- Drew Smyly – Smyly is in a tough spot tonight. He has a bad matchup against the Angels who are ranked 1st in baseball in wOBA vs. LH pitching. Smyly also has some bad road splits. He won’t be on anyone’s radar tonight and he’s not on mine either. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6600 FD, $11950 DD, $6600 DK, $70200 FF, $17500 SS, $11950 FTD
- Tyler Skaggs – Skaggs is in the same boat as Smyly. He’s a nice LH pitcher with decent upside, but runs into a tough opponent tonight. The Tigers are ranked 2nd in wOBA vs. LH pitching, only behind the Angels. Avoid both pitchers in this one. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6000 FD, $12650 DD, $6100 DK, $71800 FF, $17000 SS, $12650 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Detroit
Victor Martinez – Martinez has one of the highest wOBA against LH pitching this season. It’s at .503 and has been above .500 for almost the entire season. I like the matchup against Skaggs and really like V-Mart on sites that have him listed at catcher.
Additional Plays: Miguel Cabrera, Austin Jackson, Ian Kinsler
LA Angels
Mike Trout – I think Cutch is the top OF play tonight, but Trout is right on his heels. Smyly has given up a .389 wOBA to RH hitters this season and Trout is sporting a .438 wOBA vs. lefties.
Additional Plays: Albert Pujols, Howie Kendrick, Collin Cowgill
Baltimore at Seattle

Pitcher Grind Down
- Kevin Gausman – Through 8 starts this season, Gausman has posted a 4.04 ERA with a K/9 of 6.8. He has a favorable matchup against the Mariners, but will have a tough time getting any kind of run support with King Felix on the mound for the Mariners. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5900 FD, $12250 DD, $6400 DK, $63200 FF, $16400 SS, $12250 FTD
- Felix Hernandez – King Felix is having another terrific season. The only downside is that he faces an Orioles offense that has been very good on the road this season. I think great pitching beats out good hitting though and I expect another big outing from Hernandez tonight. Rating = 9
Salaries: $11300 FD, $21850 DD, $12500 DK, $164000 FF, $33000 SS, $22750 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Baltimore
Avoid all Orioles’ batters tonight against King Felix.
Seattle
Kyle Seager – Seager has a .387 wOBA against RH pitching this season and draws a nice matchup against Gausman who has been vulnerable to LH hitters.
Additional Plays: Robinson Cano
LA Dodgers at San Francisco
| LA Dodgers | San Francisco | ||||||||
| Zack Greinke | Vegas Moneyline | Tim Lincecum | Vegas Over/Under | ||||||

Pitcher Grind Down
- Zack Greinke – The final game of the night is between the Dodgers and the Giants. Greinke comes into this game with a 2.90 ERA and a K/9 of 9.4. He’s pitched well at home and on the road and is facing a Giants’ offense that is ranked 23rd in wOBA vs. RH pitching. He’s not favored here though so you may want to look elsewhere on sites like FanDuel that factor in the win so heavily. Rating = 7.5
Salaries: $9400 FD, $18250 DD, $9800 DK, $108800 FF, $27900 SS, $17650 FTD
- Tim Lincecum – Everyone was surprised at the contract the Giants gave Lincecum in the off-season, but so far he’s been worth every dollar. In addition to his no-hitter, Lincecum has pitched well this season with a 3.65 ERA and a K/9 of 8.1. Slow starts have been his biggest problem in recent seasons, but he’s managed to fix that over the last two months. He catches the Dodgers at the right time as they are dealing with quite a few injuries. Rating = 7.5
Salaries: $8100 FD, $16500 DD, $8500 DK, $97600 FF, $24700 SS, $17400 FTD
Batter Grind Down
LA Dodgers
Dee Gordon – Gordon is really the only hitter that I’ll have any exposure to in this game. His value is directly linked to his ability to steal bases and I could see him stealing a base or two tonight against Lincecum who is pretty slow to the plate and has already allowed 13 SB’s.
Additional Plays: None
San Francisco
I’ll be avoiding all Giants’ hitters tonight against Greinke. There are better matchups to exploit.
