Pitcher Grind Down
- Jordan Zimmermann – Zimmermann is coming off of a huge outing against the Padres in Petco. If you had him in his last start, you were probably looking pretty good in your double-ups even if your hitters struggled. Zimmermann has a tougher test in front of him tonight, but the Cardinals have been pretty average against RH pitching this season with a team .307 wOBA. Vegas likes him in this game and so do I. Rating = 7
Salaries: $8600 FD, $15897 DS, $15450 DD, $9300 DK, $104500 FF, $24000 SS, $16300 FTD
- Lance Lynn – Lynn is enjoying a pretty solid season, but it does seem that he has been a letdown on quite a few occasions. He is still sporting a 3.49 ERA with a 1.41 WHIP and a K/9 of 8.1. The Nationals’ offense has been on a tear of late, but they are still only ranked 17th against RH pitching on the season. Rating = 6
Salaries: $7700 FD, $15553 DS, $14800 DD, $8200 DK, $77400 FF, $21500 SS, $14800 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Washington
Adam LaRoche – LaRoche has been terrific against RH pitching all season long. He has a .423 wOBA against righties and has a nice matchup against Miller who has not been great against LHB’s.
Additional Plays: Jayson Werth
St. Louis
Matt Carpenter – This Cardinals’ offense is slumping once again, but Carpenter has picked up his play of late. He has 13 hits over his last 10 games and is a cheap option at 3B.
Additional Plays: None

Pitcher Grind Down
- David Phelps – Phelps is not a recommended fantasy option tonight. Not only does he enter tonight’s game with 3 consecutive bad outings, but he has to face the A’s who are ranked 5th against RH pitching with a team .334 wOBA. Rating = 3
Salaries: $5300 FD, $10800 DS, $8150 DD, $5500 DK, $47800 FF, $13000 SS, $8150 FTD
- Sonny Gray – Gray is one of my favorite pitchers tonight. He has really pitched well at home throughout his career. On the season he owns a 2.83 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP and a K/9 of 7.6. He is facing a Yankees’ offense that is ranked 21st against RH pitching this season. The price is affordable and I’m expecting a big outing from the RHP Gray tonight. Rating = 9
Salaries: $8500 FD, $16644 DS, $16800 DD, $9200 DK, $103800 FF, $24700 SS, $17050 FTD
Batter Grind Down
NY Yankees
With Gray being one of my favorite pitchers on the mound, I’ll be avoiding all hitters against him tonight.
Oakland
Brandon Moss – You know the drill here. Moss crushes RH pitching and gets to face the RHP Phelps who has struggled against LHB’s this season.
Additional Plays: Coco Crisp, John Jaso, Josh Donaldson

Pitcher Grind Down
- Chase Anderson – Anderson is the biggest underdog on the board tonight at +190. He’s pitched pretty well in his first 5 career starts, but he’ll likely get little to no run support with Kershaw on the mound for the Dodgers. Rating = 3
Salaries: $6400 FD, $11012 DS, $13700 DD, $7000 DK, $90000 FF, $18400 SS, $13700 FTD
- Clayton Kershaw – Kershaw is the top pitcher on the board tonight and should be targeted in all leagues, especially on sites that only have 1 pitcher spot. I could break down his numbers, but at the end of the day, he is the best pitcher in baseball with a favorable matchup at home. Rating = 10
Salaries: $10400 FD, $25550 DS, $22150 DD, $12200 DK, $144000 FF, $32800 SS, $22400 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Arizona
Avoid all D-Backs tonight against Kershaw.
LA Dodgers
Adrian Gonzalez – A-Gon’s price has come down across the industry and it’s a nice time to buy low on him. He has a .393 wOBA against RH pitching this season and faces a rookie tonight at home.
Additional Plays: Yasiel Puig, Matt Kemp

Pitcher Grind Down
- Nick Tepesch – Tepesch has struggled in his last few starts and is one of the biggest underdogs on the board tonight. While the Mariners’ haven’t been great offensively this season, he may get stuck with the loss even if he only gives up a run or two. Rating = 4
Salaries: $4500 FD, $10905 DS, $10100 DD, $6400 DK, $54100 FF, $13000 SS, $10100 FTD
- Felix Hernandez – King Felix has had mixed results against this Rangers team. He has had trouble with a couple of batters in this lineup, but for the most part he has been very successful against them. Felix has been dominant in each of his last 5 starts and rivals Clayton Kershaw as the top pitching option on the board tonight. Rating = 9
Salaries: $11200 FD, $23136 DS, $21750 DD, $12800 DK, $161000 FF, $33000 SS, $23450 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Texas
Avoid all Rangers tonight against Felix Hernandez.
Seattle
Robinson Cano – Tepesch has been awful against LHB’s this season as he has allowed them to hit for a .404 wOBA. Cano continues to post consistent fantasy outings night after night and draws a terrific matchup.
Additional Plays: Kyle Seager
Colorado at San Francisco

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jorge De La Rosa – De La Rosa has not pitched well on the road this season. It’s surprising that he has better numbers in Coors than he does on the road, but that’s been the case in each of the last two seasons for De La Rosa. The Giants are below average against LH pitching, but there are better options than De La Rosa tonight. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6400 FD, $11885 DS, $13750 DD, $7500 DK, $86200 FF, $17400 SS, $13750 FTD
- Tim Lincecum – Lincecum has been consistently inconsistent this season. He’s pitched much better at home than he has on the road, but he’s just not a pitcher that I can trust for cash games unless he is facing one of the worst offenses in baseball and that’s not the case tonight as he faces the Rockies. Rating = 5
Salaries: $6800 FD, $14289 DS, $13900 DD, $8100 DK, $72800 FF, $22600 SS, $13900 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Colorado
Corey Dickerson – The wOBA machine loves Dickerson tonight. Lincecum has given up a .397 wOBA to LHB’s this season and Dickerson has a .451 wOBA against RH pitching.
Additional Plays: Charlie Blackmon, Justin Morneau
San Francisco
Buster Posey – This is a great matchup for Posey. He has always crushed LH pitching and De La Rosa has struggled against RHB’s this season.
Additional Plays: Hunter Pence
