Pitcher Grind Down
- Shelby Miller – Miller has been decent on the season, but has been a bit up and down. He has an overall ERA of 3.75 on the season with a WHIP of 1.40. His low 6.34 K/9 does not help his fantasy value much, and he has a tough matchup against the Dodgers who have a team average of .269 against RH batters. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6500 FD, $14123 DS, $12650 DD, $6400 DK, $73400 FF, $18600 SS, $12650 FTD
- Clayton Kershaw – Kershaw is always a top option any time he takes the mound. He has been as advertised in his last two starts giving up 0 earned runs in 17 innings with 23 strike outs. He may not be able to match that due to his matchup against all the good RH bats of the Cards, but is once again a top pitching option on the day. Rating = 9
Salaries: $12000 FD, $24877 DS, $22200 DD, $13100 DK, $170000 FF, $33000 SS, $22200 FTD
Batter Grind Down
St. Louis
Some of the Cardinal bats have some good BvP against Kershaw, but with how he has looked recently, just avoid them.
LA Dodgers
Adrian Gonzalez – Miller is giving up a .335 wOBA against LH batters and GONZO is in a great spot today as he is batting .280 against righties.
Additional Plays: Dee Gordon Andre Ethier

Pitcher Grind Down
- Mike Bolsinger – Bolsinger brings his 4.78 ERA and 1.43 WHIP into this matchup against the punchless Padres. Anytime a pitcher gets this matchup in Petco, they get a major fantasy boost as we saw yesterday with Collmenter. Bolsinger makes a decent GPP play due to this matchup and opposing pitcher. Rating = 5
Salaries: $5300 FD, $11071 DS, $9600 DD, $6700 DK, $65000 FF, $17100 SS, $9600 FTD
- Odrisamer Despaigne – In his first start of the season, Despaigne went 7 impressive innings with only 4 hits given up to the Giants. He only had one strikeout in these seven innings which does not exactly line up with what he had done in the minor leagues. He could make a great cheap GPP play, but the risk may be too high here. Rating = 4

Arizona
Miguel Montero – Montero continues to mash RH pitching for a .302 AVG and .500 SLG this year. He is coming off a HR in Petco last night and could match it today.
Additional Plays: Ender Inciarte
San Diego
Seth Smith – Smith makes a good play any time he gets an average RH pitcher. He is batting .280 with a .515 SLG against righties and Bolsinger is giving up a wOBA of .401 to LH batters.
Additional Plays: Chase Headley

Pitcher Grind Down
- T.J. House – House has not been good since joining the starting rotation this year. He has a 4.88 ERA and high 1.55 WHIP and has been crushed against RH batters this year. He has a decent matchup against the Mariners, but very tough chance at a win due to King Felix being on the mound against him. Rating = 3
Salaries: $5000 FD, $9174 DS, $8150 DD, $5000 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Felix Hernandez – King Felix is making his case for top pitching option of the day against Kershaw as he has not given up more than 2 earned runs in his last 8 starts. During this span he has gone at least 7 innings and struck out at least 6 batters in each of his starts. If you are looking whether to use Kershaw or Felix, I would go with whoever fits into your lineup. Rating = 9
Salaries: $11200 FD, $24499 DS, $21950 DD, $12500 DK, $154600 FF, $33000 SS, $21950 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Cleveland
The Cleveland bats are not worth paying up for against Felix today.
Seattle
Robinson Cano – House is allowing righties to crush him, but this Mariners lineup is so lefty heavy and House is allowing lefties a wOBA of .348. Cano is hitting lefties for over .300 this year and should have a good game against House today.
Additional Plays: Kyle Seager

Pitcher Grind Down
- John Lackey – Lackey is coming off his worst performance of the season as he gave up 7 earned runs in only 3.2 innings against the Mariners. He will look to bounce back against the Yankees who have a .269 team average against him. Lackey pitched well at home in one outing against the Yankees, but was torched for 6 earned runs against them at Yankees Stadium in April. He can be avoided today. Rating = 4
Salaries: $8200 FD, $16720 DS, $14800 DD, $8800 DK, $109400 FF, $25200 SS, $NA FTD
- Chase Whitley – Whitley finally came down to Earth in his last start, but that could be blamed on Rogers Centre and those Toronto bats. He holds a 4.07 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in his first 8 starts of the season. He takes on a Boston team for the first time in Yankee Stadium as a small favorite with a high total. Whitley can be safely avoided today. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5000 FD, $11852 DS, $10500 DD, $5900 DK, $67400 FF, $15300 SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
Boston
David Ortiz – Whitley has given up a .317 AVG to left handed bats this year and Ortiz should be chomping at the bits tonight to take Whitley deep.
Additional Plays: Brock Holt Daniel Nava
NY Yankees
Brett Gardner – Gardner is my pick against Lackey today due to him being one of the hotter hitters right now for the Yankees. He is hitting over .300 in the last week and has hit Lackey well over his career.
Additional Plays: Brian McCann Mark Teixeira
