Pitcher Grind Down
- C.J. Wilson – Wilson is coming off a very poor performance against a soft hitting Twins squad where he allowed 6 earned runs in only 5 innings of work. Wilson has been a pretty consistent pitcher on the year and holds a 3.70 ERA to show for it. The Angels organization seems to really allow Wilson to a deep pitch count, which adds to his fantasy potential. Add this to his nice 8.34 K/9 and Wilson makes a good play. Rating = 7
Salaries: $8100 FD, $16811 DS, $16100 DD, $8700 DK, $100200 FF, $24400 SS, $16100 FTD
- Jeremy Guthrie – Guthrie is another guy pitching today that has been a surprise on the year. He has a 3.75 ERA and 1.20 WHIP on the year and has been very good over the last month of the season. In the month of June, he has a 2.91 ERA and 30 strike outs in 34 innings pitched. He has a tough matchup against an Angels team that has scored 37 runs in their last 5 games. Rating = 4*
Salaries: $6300 FD, $11775 DS, $11850 DD, $7500 DK, $85900 FF, $20800 SS, $11850 FTD

LA Angels
Josh Hamilton – Hamilton makes a great play today against Guthrie who gets crushed against lefties for a wOBA of .374. Hamilton also has a good history against Guthrie (9/28, 4 home runs).
Additional Plays: Kole Calhoun Mike Trout Howie Kendrick
Kansas City
Billy Butler – Wilson has been pitching very well to both sides of the plate this year, but Butler is someone that could take him deep today. Wilson has given up 11 home runs on the season and 10 of them have come against RH batters.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Drew Smyly – Smyly has been a very good starter for the Detroit Tigers this year. He has a 3.19 ERA on the season and has been impressive recently giving up only 3 earned runs in his last 4 starts. Smyly does bring a nice 7.61 K/9, but the fact that he does not go deep into games (only gone 7 innings + once), really depresses his value. He could make a decent pitcher on a multi-pitcher site. Rating = 6
Salaries: $6900 FD, $13369 DS, $12100 DD, $7300 DK, $81300 FF, $20000 SS, $12100 FTD
- Scott Feldman – Feldman has a 4.00 ERA on the season to go along with a 1.31 WHIP. He is allowing batters to hit .264 against him and has not pitched longer than 6.1 innings this year. He has a tough matchup against the Tigers who are second in the league in batting average against RH pitching (.275). = 3*
Salaries: $5200 FD, $8879 DS, $9400 DD, $5800 DK, $63800 FF, $14800 SS, $9400 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Detroit
Miguel Cabrera – There are so many good first base options today that hopefully you are playing on a site that allows for position flexibility today. Miggy’s numbers against Feldman cannot be ignored as he has destroyed him going 9/13 with 2 home runs. Feldman is going to have a tough time with this lineup today.
Additional Plays: Victor Martinez J.D. Martinez
Houston
Jose Altuve – Anytime the Astros take on a LH pitcher, Altuve jumps out as a great second base option. He is crushing lefties for a .424 AVG this year and should get on base a few times against Smyly today.
Additional Plays: Matt Dominguez

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jorge De La Rosa – De La Rosa has been awful this year and he does not have Coors to blame for his 4.78 ERA. De La Rosa has had 8 away starts this year and has a 5.85 ERA to show for it. Recently, he has given up 11 earned runs in his last 2 starts and now has to pitch against the Brewers whose power righties should be able to get to Jorge and his wOBA of .365 to RH batters. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6000 FD, $10597 DS, $11000 DD, $5700 DK, $52600 FF, $14400 SS, $11000 FTD
- Yovani Gallardo – Gallardo has been on fire in the last 2 weeks of the season. He has had 4 starts and given up 3 earned runs in this stretch. He has also gone 27 innings with 25 strikeouts as well. The Rockies are not the same club away from Coors and are one of the biggest underdogs on the day. Gallardo makes a good cash and GPP play today. Rating = 7
Salaries: $7300 FD, $16151 DS, $14400 DD, $8000 DK, $108000 FF, $23000 SS, $14400 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Colorado
Justin Morneau – Gallardo has been tough recently, but some runs should be scored in this game and Morneau is hitting righties for .317 on the season.
Additional Plays: Troy Tulowitzki
Milwaukee
Ryan Braun – Braun may be one of the top outfield options today, taking on the lefty De La Rosa. De La Rosa is allowing a wOBA of .350 to RH batters and has been crushed by Braun in the past (8/11, 2 home runs, 9 RBIs).
Additional Plays: Jonathan Lucroy Carlos Gomez Rickie Weeks Khris Davis

Pitcher Grind Down
- Kyle Gibson – Just when Gibson was starting to turn heads with 3 straight shutout performances, he blows up for 7 earned runs in only 2 innings pitched against the Angels. This was bound to happen and brought his ERA up to 3.92 on the season. Gibson has another tough matchup today against the Rangers and is an easy avoid today. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5000 FD, $10943 DS, $11000 DD, $6100 DK, $76200 FF, $17400 SS, $11000 FTD
- Colby Lewis – Lewis has been avoidable all season long regardless of matchup. He has given up 4 or more earned runs in 7 of his 13 starts this season resulting in a 5.94 ERA with a 1.82 WHIP. Although the Twins are not the highest powered offense, Lewis and his .345 BAA should not be started in any format. Rating = 2
Salaries: $6300 FD, $11648 DS, $8950 DD, $5100 DK, $45800 FF, $13000 SS, $8950 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Minnesota
Joe Mauer – Lewis has been crushed by both LH and RH batters this year. Mauer is a great cheap option today batting in the 3 spot for the Twins who could put up a lot of runs today.
Additional Plays: Kendry Morales Brian Dozier Oswaldo Arcia Josh Willingham
Texas
Shin-Soo Choo – Gibson has struggled against LH batters this year and Choo, batting leadoff, should be in store for a number of run opportunities if he can get on base today.
Additional Plays: Adrian Beltre Leonys Martin Elvis Andrus

Pitcher Grind Down
- Homer Bailey – Bailey has not been good on the season and has a 4.80 ERA coming into this matchup. His 1.43 WHIP and .282 BAA show that Bailey has had issues keeping guys off the base pads. He has a decent matchup in a pitchers park at the Giants, but has been too inconsistent to trust recently. Rating = 4
Salaries: $8000 FD, $14365 DS, $14400 DD, $8400 DK, $79000 FF, $21500 SS, $14400 FTD
- Tim Hudson – Hudson had been pitching fantastic this year up until his recent 11 earned runs given up over the last 2 games. He still has a low 2.62 ERA and 1.11 WHIP on the season and comes into this game as a favorite in a low projected game. The problem with Hudson is his low 5.78 K/9 rate on the season, which really depresses his overall fantasy potential. Rating = 6
Salaries: $7600 FD, $15669 DS, $16200 DD, $8500 DK, $79500 FF, $24700 SS, $16200 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Cincinnati
Jay Bruce – Bruce has been batting very well recently with a .448 AVG in the last seven days. Hudson has been very good on the season, making Bruce a GPP only play.
San Francisco
Pablo Sandoval -Bailey is giving up an average of .331 to LH batters this year. Sandoval should be able to take advantage of this and Bailey’s 13 home runs given up in 16 starts.
Additional Plays: Gregor Blanco
