Pitcher Grind Down
- Trevor Bauer – Bauer pitched well in his first 2 starts this season allowing 3 total earned runs. His 9.75 K/9 makes him a decent GPP option today against Baltimore, but GPP only. Baltimore’s offense has been crushing the ball with jdkfsjkfl in their last 5 games. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5000 FD, $12748 DS, $11750 DD, $8200 DK, $64000 FF, $22800 SS, $9500 FTD
- Miguel Gonzalez – Gonzalez has not been terrible, but has not been great either. He has slowly brought his ERA down to 4.53 on the season, but still gives up 2-3 earned runs per game consistently. There have been a ton of runs scored in this series and it could continue today. Miguel is not safe in any format. Rating = 3
Salaries: $5900 FD, $12915 DS, $11200 DD, $6800 DK, $79500 FF, $16000 SS, $11300 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Cleveland
Michael Brantley – Brantley is crushing RH pitching this year for a .301 average and .520 SLG. A lot of runs should be scored today and Brantley will be in the heart of it.
Additional Plays: Lonnie Chisenhall David Murphy
Baltimore
Chris Davis – Crush is hot and is mashing everything lately. In his last 23 at bats, he is hitting .348 with 6 extra base hits and 3 home runs. Avoid him if you want, but he is a top option at first today.
EDITORS NOTE: It appears as though Davis might go on paternity leave either today or tomorrow. Make sure he is in the lineup before rolling him out there.
Additional Plays: Adam Jones Nick Markakis

Pitcher Grind Down
- Doug Fister – After struggling in his first start of the season, Fister has really settled down and had 2 very productive starts. He is now getting a full compliment of pitches as well as he went 109 in his last start against the Reds. The only downfall at this moment with Fister is the 6.38 K/9 that he holds. Fister makes a decent cash game play today. Rating = 6
Salaries: $7300 FD, $15355 DS, $13200 DD, $7900 DK, $88600 FF, $21000 SS, $13800 FTD
- Francisco Liriano – Liriano is coming off a great season for the Pirates, but this season, in late May, has 0 wins. Liriano is still striking guys out at a high clip (8.89 K/9), but is simply making too many mistakes this season. His WHIP sits 1.45 and he has allowed 7 home runs already. Until he can start to get it going, I would avoid him. Rating = 4*
Salaries: $7100 FD, $14494 DS, $12750 DD, $7300 DK, $64000 FF, $20000 SS, $12700 FTD

Washington
Jayson Werth – I always like to pick Rendon when the Nats are facing a lefty, but due to his struggles recently, I will be using more shares of Werth. His numbers are great against LH pitching this year at a .421 BA. If Liriano continues to struggle, Werth could be a main reason.
Additional Plays: Anthony Rendon Ian Desmond
Pittsburgh
Andrew McCutchen – McCutchen is having another great season so far and makes a good play each day. He is hitting RH pitching for a .301 average and is hitting .350 overall at home.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Brandon Workman – Workman will be making the spot start today against the Rays and it will be his first start of the season. He has pitched well in only 3 relief appearances, but due to pitch count reasons, he is safe to avoid. Rating = 4
Salaries: $4200 FD, $NA DS, $9450 DD, $NA DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Jake Odorizzi – Odorizzi has been a bit up and down this year. Either he gives up 0 earned runs or 3+. His ERA sits at 4.98 and has a high WHIP of 1.59. He is not going to pitch deep into games and has a tough matchup today. Rating = 5
Salaries: $5400 FD, $13641 DS, $11600 DD, $7200 DK, $77000 FF, $19000 SS, $11600 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Boston
David Ortiz – Odorizzi is giving up a wOBA of .362 against LH hitters and Ortiz’s price is slightly depressed due to a tough week. Make sure he is in the starting lineup today, but if he is Ortiz makes a good play.
Additional Plays: Mike Carp A.J. Pierzynski
Tampa Bay
Matt Joyce – Joyce continues to hit RH pitching well this year and he is hitting for a .303 average. The Rays could get to the reliever early today and could see a lot of Red Sox bullpen.
Additional Plays: Evan Longoria James Loney

Pitcher Grind Down
- Masahiro Tanaka – After a surprisingly not so great performance against the Cubs, Tanaka gets to take on the South Siders today. Tanaka has been as advertised so far this season and has been a great pitcher for daily fantasy purposes as well. He still holds a sub 1 WHIP and an ERA of 2.39. What puts him into elite fantasy options is that 10.27 K/9. He should also be in line for the win today as a favorite on the day and is my top option at pitcher. Rating = 10
Salaries: $10400 FD, $23411 DS, $19450 DD, $12200 DK, $146500 FF, $30500 SS, $17200 FTD
- Andre Rienzo – Rienzo has been decent for the White Sox on the season as he comes into this game 4-0 after 6 starts. He does have a 4.00 ERA, but has done well holding opponents to only a .213 batting average. His problem has been the long ball as he has already given up 6 home runs in only 36 innings. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5100 FD, $10388 DS, $10150 DD, $7100 DK, $68500 FF, $18400 SS, $10200 FTD
Batter Grind Down
NY Yankees
Jacoby Ellsbury – I am going to be on Ellsbury today due to the fact that his price is down across the industry and his home run in the 9th yesterday. I am hoping it gives him some confidence moving forward and Rienzo allows a .346 wOBA to LH batters.
Additional Plays: Brian McCann Mark Teixeira
Chicago White Sox
I will be avoiding the White Sox Bats today.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jason Vargas – Vargas has been a very hit or miss pitcher so far this season. He holds a decent 3.76 ERA on the season, but has given up 5 or more earned runs in 3 different starts. He goes up against an Angels team today that is in the top 10 in runs scored against left handed pitching this year and has some big name RH bats. Vargas is a heavy underdog and should be avoided today. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6000 FD, $12808 DS, $11200 DD, $7200 DK, $81000 FF, $20600 SS, $11800 FTD
- Garrett Richards – Richards got roughed up by a poor hitting Houston team in his last start and is looking to bounce back as a big favorite against the Royals. He has a 2.90 ERA with a 1.14 WHIP. Richards has also struck guys out at a high clip at 8.39 K/9 on the season. Although the Royals K at a very low rate, Richards makes a solid start today.Rating = 7
Salaries: $6900 FD, $19188 DS, $14050 DD, $9900 DK, $88600 FF, $24900 SS, $13000 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Kansas City
Alex Gordon – He is still a bit underpriced at some sites and is now hitting in the cleanup spot due to a great last week at the plate. He has 2 home runs and is 9/21 in the last 7 days.
LA Angels
Mike Trout – Trout looks like a great play today against Vargas. Trout is heating up with 2 home runs in his last 2 games as well as a .353 average for the week. He crushes LH pitching and is one of the top plays of the day.
Additional Plays: Albert Pujols Howie Kendrick
