Pitcher Grind Down
- Mike Minor – Through his first 7 starts, Minor has a 3.07 ERA with a 1.23 WHIP and a K/9 of 8.2. On most nights he is a viable fantasy option, but that’s not the case with tonight’s outing as he has to pitch in the pitcher’s nightmare that is Coors Field. As usual, I’ll be avoiding all pitchers in Coors. Rating = 3
Salaries: $7800 FD, $14945 DS, $14950 DD, $9100 DK, $103200 FF, $23400 SS, $11100 FTD
- Juan Nicasio – Nicasio should be avoided tonight in Coors. He has given up a .349+ wOBA to both LHB’s and RHB’s this season and I’ll be targeting the Braves side of this matchup. Rating = 2
Salaries: $5100 FD, $8855 DS, $11650 DD, $5800 DK, $54200 FF, $13700 SS, $11000 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Atlanta
Freddie Freeman – As mentioned above, Nicasio has struggled against both LHB’s and RHB’s this season so don’t hesitate to get a few Braves’ bats in your lineup. My top play here is Freeman who has a .372 wOBA against RH pitching this season.
Additional Plays: Justin Upton, Jason Heyward, B.J. Upton, Evan Gattis, Chris Johnson
Colorado
Troy Tulowitzki – Tulo put up a rare dud at home last night, but I have a feeling that he’s going to make up for it tonight. Tulo has an incredible .578 wOBA against LH pitching this season.
Additional Plays: Charlie Blackmon, Drew Stubbs, Corey Dickerson

Pitcher Grind Down
- Drew Pomeranz – Pomeranz continues to pitch well for the A’s. On the season he has a 2.20 ERA with a 1.15 WHIP and a K/9 of 8.4. What’s even better is the fact that he finally threw over 100 pitches in his last start. He has a pretty tough matchup tonight against the Angels, but makes a nice upside play in tournaments. Rating = 5
Salaries: $5400 FD, $12501 DS, $10850 DD, $7300 DK, $85900 FF, $17600 SS, $NA FTD
- Hector Santiago – Santiago has a 4.82 ERA on the season with 31 K’s over 31 innings of work. I typically like to avoid pitchers against the A’s and that’s going to be the case again tonight. There are better options on both FD and DD (only sites that he’s available). Rating = 4
Salaries: $5300 FD, $ DS, $12050 DD, $ DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
Oakland
Yoenis Cespedes – Cespedes has always hit LH pitching well and this season is no different. He has a .349 wOBA against LH pitching and draws a nice matchup against Santiago who has given up a .340 wOBA to RHB’s.
Additional Plays: Josh Donaldson, Derek Norris, Coco Crisp
LA Angels
Mike Trout – Trout is one of the top OF plays tonight. He has a .440 wOBA against LH pitching this season and has a favorable matchup against Pomeranz who has given up a .353 wOBA to RHB’s.
Additional Plays: Howie Kendrick, Albert Pujols, C.J. Cron

Pitcher Grind Down
- Vidal Nuno – Nuno was scheduled to start last night, but the game was postponed and he will draw the start tonight against the Mariners. The good news is that he is facing a Mariners’ offense that is ranked 27th against LH pitching. The bad news is that Nuno has given up a .411 wOBA to LHB’s this season and this Mariners’ lineup is littered with LHB’s. Rating = 4
Salaries: $4600 FD, $9575 DS, $11350 DD, $6200 DK, $56800 FF, $13000 SS, $9600 FTD
- Hisashi Iwakuma – Iwakuma is having another terrific season. He has a 2.66 ERA with a 0.94 WHIP and a K/9 of 6.5. He has held both LHB’s and RHB’s under a .280 wOBA and he is facing a Yankees’ offense that has been sputtering. Iwakuma is in play on all sites tonight. Rating = 8
Salaries: $8300 FD, $16919 DS, $15350 DD, $10000 DK, $107700 FF, $26900 SS, $15700 FTD
Batter Grind Down
NY Yankees
As mentioned above, Iwakuma has held both LHB’s and RHB’s under a .280 wOBA. He has always pitched well at Safeco Field and I’ll be avoiding all of the Yankees’ batters tonight.
Seattle
Robinson Cano – Everyone is still waiting for the power, but Cano is still having a nice season. Nuno is giving up a .411 wOBA to LHB’s and Cano is a lefty that has always been good against southpaws. He is a nice cash game option at 2B.
Additional Plays: Mike Zunino

Pitcher Grind Down
- Doug Fister – Fister has a string of 5 consecutive quality starts and will look to make it 6 in a row as he takes on the Giants in the pitcher-friendly AT&T Park. Fister has a 3.19 ERA on the season with a 0.99 WHIP and a K/9 of 7.0. He is facing a Giants’ offense that is ranked 14th against RH pitching. With Bumgarner pitching opposite him, I don’t think you can roll Fister out as your starter on single pitcher sites, but he is certainly in play on multi-pitcher sites. Rating = 7
Salaries: $7800 FD, $17199 DS, $15350 DD, $8500 DK, $106200 FF, $24600 SS, $13900 FTD
- Madison Bumgarner – Bumgarner has been the ace of this Giants’ staff and it hasn’t even been close. On the season he has a 2.68 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP and a K/9 of 10.1. While this Nationals’ offense has been surging of late, I still think Bumgarner is one of the best plays at SP tonight. Rating = 8
Salaries: $9600 FD, $21314 DS, $18250 DD, $11100 DK, $127000 FF, $29200 SS, $16700 FTD

Washington / San Francisco
This game features the lowest total of the night. Both of these pitchers have been pitching well this season and there aren’t any hitters that stand out here. Especially considering the fact that there are games in Coors, the Rogers Centre, and Globe Life Park tonight.
