Pitcher Grind Down
- Chris Archer – Archer hasn’t allowed an earned run in either of his last 2 outings. He appears to finally be putting it together. When he is on, he is a terrific RH pitcher. His splits this season mirror those of his career as he typically gives up a much higher wOBA to LHB’s than he does to RHB’s. While I like Archer moving forward, I will not be using him tonight against the Blue Jays who are ranked 2nd against RH pitching this season. Rating = 4
Salaries: $7500 FD, $14643 DS, $11700 DD, $7400 DK, $88600 FF, $NA SS, $12400 FTD
- Liam Hendriks – Hendriks pitched well in his first start of the year, but has had an ERA well over 6.00 in his last 2 seasons. He is not a recommended fantasy option tonight against the Rays. Rating = 3
Salaries: $4500 FD, $10813 DS, $9350 DD, $7200 DK, $67000 FF, $17700 SS, $9500 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Tampa Bay
Evan Longoria – Longo is swinging a hot bat with 11 hits over his last 6 games. He has a nice matchup against an average RHP in Hendriks. While batting 2nd may lead to fewer RBI opportunities, he has excelled in that spot so far.
Additional Plays: Matt Joyce, Desmond Jennings, James Loney
Toronto
Edwin Encarnacion – It’s hard to ignore what E5 has done over the past few weeks. In the month of May, he has hit 14 HR’s. That’s a HR every other day. His price is going up, but a single swing from E5 and he can exceed his value.
Additional Plays: Jose Reyes, Adam Lind, Juan Francisco

Pitcher Grind Down
- Gavin Floyd – Through 4 starts this season, Floyd has a 2.49 ERA with a K/9 of 8.6. While I would love to recommend him against this struggling Red Sox offense, I just can’t do it. The Red Sox have won 2 straight and now head back home with a chance to right the ship. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6100 FD, $13798 DS, $11850 DD, $8800 DK, $64400 FF, $21100 SS, $9800 FTD
- John Lackey – Lackey has pitched pretty well this season. He has a 3.58 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP and a K/9 of 8.1. He is facing a Braves’ offense that is ranked 29th against RH pitching this season with a 22.8 K-percentage. Lackey has nice upside here, but this Braves’ offense can put up runs quickly. I think Lackey should be used as a GPP play only. Rating = 6
Salaries: $7500 FD, $15936 DS, $12900 DD, $9500 DK, $100500 FF, $23800 SS, $14200 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Atlanta
Chris Johnson – Johnson is still close to minimum salary on a few of the major DFS sites and he’s finally starting to come out of his slump. He’s making good contact and he has a nice matchup against Lackey who has given up a .349 wOBA to RHB’s this season.
Additional Plays: Freddie Freeman, Jason Heyward
Boston
David Ortiz – I’m going back to the well on this one, but Ortiz is really the only LHB on the Red Sox that has consistently produced this season. Floyd has given up a .374 wOBA to LHB’s this season.
Additional Plays: A.J. Pierzynski, Grady Sizemore, Dustin Pedroia

Pitcher Grind Down
- T.J. House – House gave up 11 hits and 5 earned runs in his first career start in the majors. He managed to pitch 6 innings, but only struck out 1 batter. Vegas is expecting this to be a high scoring game and I need to see more from House before targeting him in any leagues. Rating = 3
Salaries: $4000 FD, $10977 DS, $8150 DD, $5500 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Hector Noesi – Unlike House, I’ve seen enough of Noesi to make a decision about him. Noesi has posted an ERA over 5.80 in each of the last 3 seasons. He is not a recommended fantasy option tonight against the Indians. Rating = 3
Salaries: $4400 FD, $7848 DS, $9550 DD, $5600 DK, $55000 FF, $13000 SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
Cleveland
Michael Brantley – I saw a tweet comparing Brantley to Trout this season and it just goes to show how good he has been thus far. Brantley is batting .308 with an .877 OPS against RH pitching this season. The Indians are a great team to stack tonight as Noesi has given up a .390+ wOBA to both LH and RH batters this season.
Additional Plays: Lonnie Chisenhall, David Murphy, Asdrubal Cabrera, Yan Gomes
Chicago White Sox
Alexei Ramirez – Alexei has always hit LH pitching well and is enjoying another terrific season. He has decent power (7 HR’s) and decent speed (9 SB’s) and makes a nice play at SS.
Additional Plays: Paul Konerko, Dayan Viciedo

Pitcher Grind Down
- Bud Norris – Norris is having a Norris-like season. He has an ERA right around 4.00 and his biggest problem has been getting LHB’s out. He comes into tonight’s game as a +120 favorite, but this is a decent matchup for him as a majority of the Brewers’ lineup are RHB’s. That said, he’s not a recommended play tonight. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6600 FD, $11755 DS, $11850 DD, $7600 DK, $77300 FF, $18900 SS, $11200 FTD
- Yovani Gallardo – Gallardo has given up at least 3 earned runs in each of his last 5 starts. On the season he has a 3.51 ERA with a K/9 of 7.5. While he is a small favorite in this game, I don’t want anything to do with a pitcher against the likes of Chris Davis, Adam Jones, and Nelson Cruz in a HR-friendly ballpark. Rating = 5
Salaries: $6200 FD, $10619 DS, $12950 DD, $7300 DK, $62100 FF, $18300 SS, $12800 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Baltimore
Chris Davis – Davis has a .391 OBP and an OPS of .850 against RH pitching this season. Last year 40 of his 53 HR’s came against RH pitching. Gallardo has already given up 7 HR’s this season. See where I’m going with this?
Additional Plays: Adam Jones
Milwaukee
Jean Segura – Segura’s bat is heating up. In the last 7 days, he is batting .375 with an OPS of .894. He has always hit RH pitching well and should be able to reach base a couple of times tonight against Norris who hasn’t been great on the road.
Additional Plays: Ryan Braun, Scooter Gennett

Pitcher Grind Down
- Joe Saunders – Saunders will make his 2nd start of the season for the Rangers. Last year he posted a 5.26 ERA with a low K/9 of 5.3. Saunders is a small underdog in a game that features a total of 9.0 runs. He has more downside than upside tonight against the Twins. Rating = 3
Salaries: $4600 FD, $12241 DS, $8250 DD, $6400 DK, $51800 FF, $13000 SS, $11000 FTD
- Kyle Gibson – In his last 10 starts, Gibson has either given up 4+ runs or 1 or less runs. So basically he has either pitched very well or he’s gotten shelled. I like to see more consistency out of my starting pitcher and I think the Rangers get a hold of him tonight.
Salaries: $4800 FD, $11215 DS, $9550 DD, $5700 DK, $41800 FF, $13000 SS, $10100 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Texas
Shin-Soo Choo – Choo may be my favorite OF play tonight. Not only does he crush RH pitching, but he draws a terrific matchup against Gibson who has given up a .335 wOBA to LHB’s this season.
Additional Plays: Mitch Moreland, Alex Rios
Minnesota
Trevor Plouffe – Plouffe’s numbers against LH pitching have been down this season, but last year he hit for a .300 average and an OPS of .826 against southpaws. I love his matchup tonight against Saunders who gave up a .954 OPS to RHB’s last season.
Additional Plays: Brian Dozier, Joe Mauer, Josh Willingham
