MLB Player Props Today

Tyler Glasnow o7.5 strikeouts (-128), FanDuel

In two starts since returning from the injured list, Tyler Glasnow has posted eight strikeouts against the Los Angeles Dodgers and six strikeouts against the Boston Red Sox. Since May 15, both the Dodgers and Red Sox rank in the top-16 in strikeout percentage against right-handed pitching, meaning that they were not exactly favorable matchups. During that same time period, the Texas Rangers rank 14th in that metric. Glasnow tossed 83 pitches in his first start and 88 pitches in his second start. He can be expected to flirt with 90 pitches on Friday night, which should give him every opportunity to hit the over here.

Juan Soto o1.5 Total Bases (-105), BetMGM

Juan Soto, best known for keeping the bat on his shoulders, could benefit significantly from letting it rip tonight against Austin Gomber. On the season, Gomber owns a 7.87 FIP, .333 opponent batting average, and a 1.83 WHIP against left-handed hitters. Soto has not posted exceptional numbers against southpaws this season, but not all southpaws are created equal. Gomber is unquestionably one of the least talented pitchers in Major League Baseball – take the over in this spot.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Yandy Diaz less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks

Yandy Diaz is a top-10 hitter in the big leagues, but most casual fans are unfamiliar with his game. Entering play on Friday, Diaz has only struck out in 14.8% of his plate appearances this season. Tonight, he gets a favorable matchup against Andrew Heaney, who owns a relatively unimpressive 23.6% strikeout rate and a 5.11 FIP against right-handed batters in 2023. Diaz should have quality at-bats each time he steps in the box this evening – trust him to get the job done.
