MLB Player Props Today

Logan Gilbert u18.5 Outs Recorded (-168), FanDuel

During the month of August, the Kansas City Royals rank 3rd in OPS, 6th in ISO, and have struck out at the fourth-lowest rate of any team in the league against right-handed pitching. Simply, they have been making a lot of hard contact, despite having to face respectable arms such as Kodai Senga, Aaron Nola, Brayan Bello, and Nick Pivetta during that stretch. Logan Gilbert has only eclipsed this market number nine times in 23 turns through the rotation in 2023 – it would be surprising to see him last more than six innings this evening.

Tyler Glasnow u7.5 Strikeouts (-125), BetMGM

Entering play on Monday, Tyler Glasnow has recorded at least eight strikeouts in six of his last seven turns through the rotation. Tonight, he gets a seemingly favorable matchup against the San Francisco Giants, but the Giants have been making a lot more contact at the plate in recent weeks than they were earlier in the year. Since August 1, San Francisco ranks a respectable 15th in swing percentage on pitches outside of the zone. This is not an easy bet to make psychologically, but it could end up being worthwhile financially.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Nolan Arendado Less Than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks

In 2023, Nolan Arenado has struck out in only 13.5% of his plate appearances against left-handed pitching. Tonight, he will face JP Sears, who owns a rather pedestrian 23.9% strikeout rate against right-handed hitters this year. Arenado has not struck out in any of his last six games, during which he owns a .375 batting average and a .986 OPS. He is well-positioned to avoid striking out once again on Monday.
