Happy Tuesday! Our content schedule prioritized football over the weekend, but we are back today to break down a 17-game MLB slate. We ended last week 10-1, with one voided ticket due to CJ Abrams being out of the lineup last Tuesday.

Across the last month and change, we are 89-52-4 (63.1%) in this article. Since May 1, we are 184-133-10 on non-Home Run props and 2-6 on Home Run recommendations. MLB Player Props Today

Max Scherzer u6.5 Strikeouts (-113), FanDuel

Since joining the TExas Rangers, Max Scherzer owns a 3.63 ERA and a 3.46 FIP – good, but not great numbers. His 32.3% strikeout rate in that span is significantly higher than it was earlier in the season with the New York Mets, but much of his strikeout success across his last seven outings has been built against the Minnesota Twins and Los Angeles Angels. Since August 15, the Twins and Angels both rank 20th or worse in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching. In stark contrast, the Toronto Blue Jays rank 9th in strikeout rate against right-handers during that same stretch of action. Ryan Blakney is a strikeout-friendly umpire, so do not go crazy here, but the under is worth a small stab.

Patrick Sandoval u6.5 Strikeouts (-132), FanDuel

Since July 27, Patrick Sandoval has eclipsed this market number only twice in eight turns through the rotation. Tonight, his market number is inflated because the Seattle Mariners have struck out at the second-highest rate against southpaws since August 15. However, many of those left-handed pitchers are considerably more talented than Sandoval. The Mariners also held Framber Valdez to only five strikeouts and have struck out four times or less against David Peterson and Ken Waldichuk since August 29. Even in a favorable matchup, seven strikeouts is likely too many for Sandoval.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Alex Bregman Less Than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks

Alex Bregman has struck out in only 9.6% of his plate appearances against left-handed pitching in 2023. Tonight, he gets to face JP Sears, who ranks in only the 39th percentile in strikeout rate and 41st percentile in whiff rate for the season. Bregman has been seeing the ball well lately, with only one strikeout in his last 45 plate appearances. He has another good matchup tonight to keep his contact streak alive.
