MLB Player Props Today

Francisco Lindor to Hit a Home Run
Joc Pederson to Hit a Home Run
Shea Langeliers to Hit a Home Run

Francisco Lindor to Hit a Home Run (+440, FanDuel)

The weather is admittedly not very conducive to hitting the ball out of the ballpark at Citi Field on Tuesday, but bettors looking to take a stab on this game anyway should consider Francisco Lindor.

Jared Jones has electric stuff for Pittsburgh, but when he’s not able to get swings-and-misses, he’s shown himself to be vulnerable to hard-contact against lefties. Entering play on Tuesday, Jones has already allowed 3 home runs to lefties in 2024, out of only 41 lefties faced. His batted-ball profile is also favorable to lefties, with a 43.5% fly-ball rate allowed and a 52.2% hard-hit rate allowed.

Lindor has slightly less power against RHP than LHP, but he’s more than capable of running into a ball in this spot.

Joc Pederson to Hit a Home Run (+350, FanDuel)

Joc Pederson doesn’t have a home run yet in 2024, but that could change on Tuesday night. Kyle Hendricks has historically done a relatively good job avoiding the long-ball, but it’s worth noting that he’s already allowed 4 home runs to lefties in only 34 plate appearances to begin the new campaign.

Pederson hit 14 of his 15 home runs last season against RHP, in part due to a 42.2% fly-ball rate. Early this season, Pederson has a 48.3% fly-ball rate against RHP, but he hasn’t been rewarded with a round-tripper to date.

Both Hendricks and the Chicago arm barn offer Pederson upside in this matchup.

Shea Langeliers to Hit a Home Run (+560, FanDuel)

Shea Langeliers isn’t what many people would consider a “good” hitter, but he’s exactly the type of player bettors should target for this type of promotion. In 2023, Langeliers had only 92 hits and a .205 batting average for the season, but 22 of those hits were home runs, and 17 of those home runs came against RHP.

Since the beginning of 2023, Lance Lynn has allowed 47 home runs, which is the most of any pitcher in the MLB during that stretch. Historically, Lynn has been at his worst against lefties, but he was still plenty bad against righties last season, allowing 20 home runs. It’s still early in 2024, but Lynn has already allowed a pair of home runs to righties in only 27 plate appearances. Langeliers is certainly a long shot, especially in a pitcher-friendly venue, but he could be worth the investment this evening.
